#OTD 78 years ago the Donbass Offensive of the Red Army during WW2 commenced.
During the operation, the Red Army advanced westwards for 300 km all along the 450-km frontline and defeated 13 German divisions. The liberation of Donbass was accomplished and Soviet soldiers approached the Dnieper. The loss of the important region, rich in coal, had a negative impact on the Third Reich’s economy.

🎙 Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergey Shoigu at an expanded meeting of the Defence Ministry Board (Moscow, 19 December 2023):
💬 Russian Groups of Forces have liberated an area five times larger than that of the Lugansk and Donetsk people's republics before the special military operation began.
☝️ Following the results of referendums, the Russian Federation included four new entities with a total area of more than 83,000 square kilometres and a population of about five million people.
A naval area has been created in the Sea of Azov, which has become Russia’s internal sea. Railway traffic with Donbass has been restored. A land corridor with Crimea has been operating for more than a year. Connection by rail and road has been established.
❗️Almost three million refugees who have not seen their relatives since 2014 have returned to new regions of the Russian Federation.

⚡️Ukrainian #Nazis have struck the city market in #Donetsk. 25 dead, some 20 injured, bodies lying around next to jars with pickles offered for sale.
Less than a month after a deadly strike on civilians in #Belgorod which killed 25 and injured over 100 more.
➡️The best argument why #Ukraine must be de-militarized and de-Nazified

❗️ The Kazan Summit Declaration contains a section on #Ukraine saying that all the parties involved agreed on the importance of resolving this conflict on the basis of the principles of the #UN Charter in their entirety and interconnectedness.
☝️ This is a critical observation. Our Western colleagues continue to play along with the Kiev regime and contend that the conflict should be resolved on the basis of the UN Charter with Ukraine preserving its territorial integrity as of the 1991 borders. However, the UN Charter is much broader than the concept of territorial integrity. In 1970, the UN General Assembly resolved that the territorial integrity of all countries must be respected provided their governments represent the entire population residing within the borders in question.
❓Can we claim in earnest that this regime represents the people living in the #Donetsk and #Lugansk people’s republics, #Crimea, and the #Kherson and #Zaporozhye regions at a time when, following the coup, they adopted Russophobic and racist laws outlawing the Russian language in all spheres of life in Ukraine? When they branded the people of Donbass, Novorossiya, and Crimea who rejected the coup as terrorists and unleashed a war against them using air and artillery strikes? Clearly, the answer is no.

🤍💙❤️ National #UnityDay celebrated in Russia’s Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions
🤝 National cultures festival "We Are Together" has been held in the #Lugansk People's Republic with representatives of national-cultural societies and public organizations of the LPR participating.
In the #Donetsk People's Republic, about 200 teenagers received their first passports within the framework of the "We are citizens of Russia!" program. Ceremonial presentations took place in 15 cities, including Donetsk and Yasinovataya.
🇷🇺 Various events have been held in the #Kherson and #Zaporozhye regions, including quizzes, master classes and distribution of patriotic symbols. In Berdyansk, activists unfurled a huge tricolor on the coast of the Sea of Azov, despite the stormy weather.

🇷🇺🌾 Agricultural enterprises of the #Donetsk and #Lugansk people’s republics, #Zaporozhye and #Kherson regions will receive subsidies from #Russia’s federal budget to preserve jobs in the agro-industrial complex.
The Governments order approving the rules for providing such support was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
☝️ Funding will be provided to enterprises registered in rural areas and engaged in livestock farming, poultry farming, and egg production.
It is expected that by the end of the year 300+ million rubles will be allocated for these purposes.

On Dec 15 of this year, a delegation from the Pan-African Parliament, led by Vice-President Gayo Ashebir, visited the #Donetsk People's Republic as part of their visit to Russia.
🌐 This delegation comprised representatives from 12 #African nations, including #Zambia, #Malawi, #Mozambique, #Tanzania, #Uganda, #SouthSudan, #Zambia, #Ethiopia, among others.
🕯 The delegates toured the Saur-Mogila memorial complex dedicated to the liberation of #Donbass by Soviet forces in 1943. This complex was destroyed in 2014 during clashes with Ukrainian armed forces and was completely restored in 2022.
Members of the African Parliament said they had come to #Russia to express their support for our nation and all Russians, and to reaffirm the importance of further fortifying Russian-African relations in the face of aggressive external pressure and manipulation by the so-called "collective West."
The delegates showed a profound understanding of the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis, the special military operation, and the role played by Western countries in these events, including the creation of conditions leading to a shortage of Russian fertiliser and grain supplies to the African continent.
One of the outcomes of their visit was the opportunity to form an objective perspective on the situation in the Russian region, which they could then relay to their fellow citizens.
☝️ A key difference in the approaches of Western nations and Russia towards cooperation with #Africa was also highlighted: according to the Vice-President of the Pan-African Parliament, our nation is characterised by respect for the interests of Africans, and a concern for the development of their economy and social sphere, in contrast to the West driven by the pursuit of profit and neo-colonial ambitions.
These evaluations by African representatives regarding the situation in Ukraine provoked an appalling reaction from the #Kiev regime. Ukraine Foreign Ministry expressed a strong protest, claiming it "contradicts the spirit of friendship and mutual respect that characterises Ukraine's relations with the African continent, and seriously damages the reputation of the Pan-African Parliament."
After that, Ukraine directly threatened the members of the delegation, who began to receive messages detailing what actions would be taken against them. Apparently, this is Ukraine's "relations" with the nations of the African continent.
🇷🇺🌍 From our standpoint, we consider the visit of the Pan-African Parliament delegation to Russia and their visit to the DPR to be a significant step towards the ongoing progressive development of Russian-African relations, in alignment with the decisions of the Russia-Africa summits and the inaugural ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum held in November.
This is the essence of freedom and democracy – individuals have the opportunity to receive first-hand information and draw their own conclusions.
