🇷🇺 Russia’s President Vladimir #Putin: We have no contradictions with practically any #African country, and the level of trust and mutual sympathy is very high.

❗️First of all, because in the history of our relations with the African continent there has been no shadow – we have never engaged in the exploitation of African peoples, never engaged in anything inhumane on the African continent.

🤝 On the contrary, we have always supported Africa, Africans in their struggle for their independence, for sovereignty, for the creation of some basic conditions for economic development.

On Dec 4, the #UNGA adopted a resolution titled Eradication of Colonialism in All Its Forms and Manifestations, which was drafted by the Group of Friends in Defence of the UN Charter with the guiding role of Russia.

❗️A total of 113 countries voted for it, 63 states abstained, and none of the #UN member states voted against it.

The document was previously approved by the Special Political and Decolonisation Committee (C-24) and the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly.

☝️ The core of the abstaining group is made up of the former Western parent states, which bear the brunt of responsibility for centuries of colonial oppression of #Asian, #African and #LatinAmerican countries. This resolution was extremely unsuitable for them. However, they decided against opposing the #GlobalSouth and #East.

❗️The #UN General Assembly adopted the Russian resolution 'Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance'.

The document was supported by 119 countries, with 53 voting against and ten abstained.

Almost all #African countries, including South Africa 🇿🇦 and Lesotho 🇱🇸, voted in favour of the resolution.

Among those who voted against it were #Germany, #Italy, #Canada, the #UnitedStates, #Ukraine and #Japan.

The resolution condemns any actions aimed at revising the results of World War II and forgetting its lessons, including attempts to question the decisions of the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal, to equate victims with their executioners and to desecrate the memory of those killed while fighting Nazism. The document rejects attempts to glorify the Nazi movement, neo-Nazism and members of the Waffen SS organisation in any form.

It condemns the creation of monuments and memorials, as well as public demonstrations, aiming to glorify the Nazi past, the Nazi movement and neo-Nazism, as well as attempts to proclaim members of the above-mentioned organisation and those who fought the Anti-Hitler Coalition, cooperated with Nazi movements and committed crimes against humanity as national heroes and members of national-liberation movements.

On Dec 15 of this year, a delegation from the Pan-African Parliament, led by Vice-President Gayo Ashebir, visited the #Donetsk People's Republic as part of their visit to Russia.

🌐 This delegation comprised representatives from 12 #African nations, including #Zambia, #Malawi, #Mozambique, #Tanzania, #Uganda, #SouthSudan, #Zambia, #Ethiopia, among others.

🕯 The delegates toured the Saur-Mogila memorial complex dedicated to the liberation of #Donbass by Soviet forces in 1943. This complex was destroyed in 2014 during clashes with Ukrainian armed forces and was completely restored in 2022.

Members of the African Parliament said they had come to #Russia to express their support for our nation and all Russians, and to reaffirm the importance of further fortifying Russian-African relations in the face of aggressive external pressure and manipulation by the so-called "collective West."

The delegates showed a profound understanding of the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis, the special military operation, and the role played by Western countries in these events, including the creation of conditions leading to a shortage of Russian fertiliser and grain supplies to the African continent.

One of the outcomes of their visit was the opportunity to form an objective perspective on the situation in the Russian region, which they could then relay to their fellow citizens.

☝️ A key difference in the approaches of Western nations and Russia towards cooperation with #Africa was also highlighted: according to the Vice-President of the Pan-African Parliament, our nation is characterised by respect for the interests of Africans, and a concern for the development of their economy and social sphere, in contrast to the West driven by the pursuit of profit and neo-colonial ambitions.

These evaluations by African representatives regarding the situation in Ukraine provoked an appalling reaction from the #Kiev regime. Ukraine Foreign Ministry expressed a strong protest, claiming it "contradicts the spirit of friendship and mutual respect that characterises Ukraine's relations with the African continent, and seriously damages the reputation of the Pan-African Parliament."

After that, Ukraine directly threatened the members of the delegation, who began to receive messages detailing what actions would be taken against them. Apparently, this is Ukraine's "relations" with the nations of the African continent.

🇷🇺🌍 From our standpoint, we consider the visit of the Pan-African Parliament delegation to Russia and their visit to the DPR to be a significant step towards the ongoing progressive development of Russian-African relations, in alignment with the decisions of the Russia-Africa summits and the inaugural ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum held in November.

This is the essence of freedom and democracy – individuals have the opportunity to receive first-hand information and draw their own conclusions.

❗️🇺🇸 On the US’ military biological activities in Africa

The Pentagon uses the relevant infrastructure and potential of #African countries to conduct military-biological research. The U.S. Government customers are the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), the National Security Agency, and the U.S. State Department.

👉 The main consumers of the research results are the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

⚠️ At the same time, the United States do not disclose the ultimate goals of the experiments to partners, who are often unaware of the risks associated with the implementation of U.S. programmes.

🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov:

The #UN Charter has many more facets to it than just the principle of territorial integrity. The principle of self-determination of peoples is no less important. If it were not for it, there would likely be issues with decolonising #African and other peoples. This principle laid the international legal groundwork for decolonisation which echoed the African peoples’ unwillingness and impossibility to live under the colonisers’ rule.

☝️ By the same token, the residents of #Crimea, #Donbass and #Novorossiya are unwilling and unable to live under the #Nazi rule in #Kiev. So, the principle of self-determination of the peoples is coming into force.

❗️ They have one the self-determination part. The residents of Crimea did so in 2014, and Donbass and Novorossiya in 2022. These realities have been included in our Constitution.

🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov:

In terms of the impact of sanctions on our partnership with #African countries, the initial observation is that sanctions reveal the unreliability of those who impose them and their willingness to undermine all the principles of globalisation they once advocated: fair competition, the presumption of innocence, the sanctity of property, the free play of market forces, etc.

All of this has been obliterated in an instant.

☝️ In most instances, we endeavour to seek and establish opportunities for continued constructive cooperation with countries in #Africa and other continents, independent of the unlawful, unilateral and illegitimate actions of the collective #West.

🎙 From the interview of Director of the Department for Partmnership with Africa of the Russian Foreign Ministry Tatiana Dovgalenko with RIA Novosti (20 Feb 2025):

🇷🇺🌍 #Russian-#African cooperation in education and culture enjoys a long-standing history and good traditions. They occupy an important place in the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum Action Plan 2023-2026, adopted as a result of the Second Russia-Africa Summit. As part of the implementation of the tasks set out in the document, we pay primary attention to the issues of training highly qualified personnel among Africans, which are to ensure, among other things, the economic and technological sovereignty of their countries.

🎓 More than 34,000 African students study in the Russian Federation, of which about 7,000 are funded by the Russian federal budget. Since 2022, the quota for Africa has more than doubled: today about 4,800 scholarships are allocated.

☝️ To expand the coverage of our educational programs, innovative educational formats have been launched: the Russian-African Network University, the Russian-African Consortium of Technical Universities "Nedra Africa", the Russian-African Network Transport University. A significant contribution to the promotion of our education on the African continent is made by the initiatives <…> to establish centers for open education in African countries, the number of which has already reached 27, and to train teachers in specialties in demand with partners.
