Digital Foundry checked Indiana Jones game and whoa: imagine an RTX game that works without flickering and blurry image?
The engine uses a combination of technologies to only trace light where needed, so even Series S is running the game at 1080p or higher at stable 60 FPS. Dark regions of the image and interior scenes are very stable, even if they are mixed with brightly lit parts of the frame.
All thanks to a modded ID Tech engine (an improved version from DOOM Eternal) — Machine Games called their fork "Motor Engine" which will make it nearly impossible to Google.
But despite the dumb name, the exceptional quality and performance is exactly why in-house engines are superior to Unreal Engine 5, which would drop the resolution to 576p and call it a day.
