#BREAKING | Leader of CDU and #Germany's incoming chancellor, F. Merz, holds emergency negotiations with the SPD party of the outgoing chancellor, O. Scholz, to agree to pass amendments that will simplify and ease rules for government borrowing - Merz wants that done to be able to invest extra EUR 200 billion in defense.

The reason behind the emergency talks is that Merz is highly skeptical that he will have 2/3 of the total MPs' votes for that in the incoming Bundestag, so he wants to pass the amendments in the outgoing parliament before its term expires, as, mathematically, it is much easier.
