On June 22, the Russian House in New Delhi hosted events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, one of the most tragic dates in the history of Russia.
The day began with the laying of a capsule containing a particle of the Eternal Flame, delivered from Russia in May of this year. The particle was given to the Russian House as part of the All-Russian action "Flame of Memory" by the activist of the "People's Front", Russian athlete Dmitry Kudryashov. The staff of the Russian House in New Delhi solemnly delivered the particle of the Eternal Flame to the India Gate, one of the key memorial sites of the country.

The event continued with the action "Candle of Memory" in the Russian House as a sign of deep respect for the feat of the participants of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), veterans of the home front, and also in memory of the millions of victims who died in concentration camps.

June 22 is the day when Nazi Germany attacked the Soviet Union in 1941. On the same day, Italy and Romania declared war on the USSR, and on June 25, Finland joined the attack. Formations from Spain, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Croatia, Bulgaria and other countries also fought as part of the Wehrmacht.

The All-Russian action "Candle of Memory" is a symbol of unity, deep respect for history and the desire to maintain peace and tranquility on Earth.

The two-day 53rd meeting of the World Coordinating Council (WCC) of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad was held at the Victory Museum in Moscow. Representatives of 26 countries took part in the meeting, including the President of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARC) Elena Barman.

The meeting was opened by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Government Commission on Compatriots Abroad Mikhail Galuzin. In his speech, he spoke in detail about the preparation of the World Thematic Conference of Russian Compatriots, which will be held in October 2025 at the Victory Museum and will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The main motto of the upcoming conference is “The 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory. Let's Preserve the Historical Truth.”

The head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Deputy Chairman of the Government Commission on Compatriots Abroad Yevgeny Primakov also addressed the meeting participants. He emphasized that Russian compatriots living in different parts of the world make an invaluable contribution to preserving the cultural and historical heritage of Russia, passing on to the younger generation the truth about their country, its traditions, language and great history.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the implementation of international projects dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, issues of protecting historical truth, counteracting falsifications, as well as the development of patriotic education of youth, support for the Russian language and the promotion of Russian culture abroad. Special attention was paid to the results of the past regional conferences of compatriots in the countries of Asia, Europe and North America.

The meeting became an important platform for uniting the efforts of compatriots around the world in preserving historical memory and strengthening spiritual ties with the Motherland.

June 24 is International Women in Diplomacy Day.
This day was established by the UN General Assembly in 2022 and is intended to highlight the importance of the role of women in global diplomacy and international relations.

On this day, the World Federation of Russian-Speaking Women, the LDPR Women's League and the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry held a ceremonial meeting that brought together women working in various areas of international activity. Participants included diplomats, representatives of business, non-profit organizations, education and healthcare, as well as students studying in international relations programs.

The President of the World Federation of Russian-Speaking Women Elena Afanasyeva noted the importance of recognizing the role of women in diplomacy. Particular attention was paid to the need to create conditions for their professional growth and broader participation in the decision-making process. Despite the fact that women's contribution to international activities is obvious, their representation in high diplomatic positions remains insufficient. However, positive dynamics have been observed in recent years.

The meeting was attended by women from China, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, the USA, Palestine, and India, which was represented by Russian compatriot Rita Biryukova.

Such meetings play an important role in promoting women in diplomacy, introducing young people to public diplomacy, and encouraging women's participation in international professional activities.

As for Russian language specialist, participation in SPIEF gave conviction that I correctly build my career track."

Sri Ganesha Ananda, Indian airline engineer IndiGo: "I was particularly impressed by the stands of various companies, especially the Group of companies "Protector". They work with aircraft engines and overhaul aircraft. They struck their exciting future plans."

Divya Nega, head of Pratha programs: "This experience was not just a sign of business and diplomacy, but also the discovery of a new understanding of diversity that brings us all together. I am sure that this experience will help me expand my activity here in India and inspire more young Indians, especially from mountain regions, to participate in such programs."

Participants noted the cultural program also — visited the Yusupovsky Palace, the Hermitage, the famous White nights of St. Petersburg. The key event was the participation of delegates in the plenary session with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

As part of the New Generation program, Indian Russian language specialists traveled to Russia to participate in the Educational Program at the MASHUK Knowledge Center! 🎓

Vikram Chaudhary, a Russian language teacher at the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Delhi, and Devarchit Singh, a researcher at the Center for Russian Language Research at Jawaharlal Nehru University, participated in the program.
