Those who believe in Father Frost and not so much anymore came to the Russian House in New Delhi on New Year's Eve to check whether this kind greybeard really exists. And at the same time - make sure of the verity of the Snow Maiden, Baba Yaga, Snowman, as well as living and real Snowflakes, Fairies, Stars, Blizzard and Flute.
The festive performance “New Year's Adventures of the Snowman”, prepared by artists from the cultural center, was performed for young Russian compatriots and Indian children. Some of them first met the characters of the Russian winter fairy tale and after the performance, in a roundelay at the Christmas tree, they studied the outlandish images with undisguised curiosity, boldly examining their clothes by touch.
The gifts that the children received at the holiday were the most real.

The Russian House in New Delhi hosted the play "Bhaloo" based on the play by A.P. Chekhov

On International Theatre Day, the stage of the Russian House in New Delhi became a space of lively emotions and deep meanings. The play "Bhaloo" based on the play of the same name by the great Russian playwright Anton Pavlovich Chekhov took place here. The production by director Vikas Sharma captivated the audience with its expressiveness, subtle humor and dynamic development of events.

Before the play, guests were able to see the short film "The Whole City is a Theatre" by directors Bela Nakusova and Veronika Zangieva. The film, created as part of the CIS documentary film festival "Eurasia.DOC", reminded the audience that the theater is not only a stage, but our whole life.

The play "Bhaloo" became a real highlight of the evening. The scenography, live music and sincerity of the acting helped to deeply understand Chekhov's idea. The audience noted that the production literally captivates from the first minutes and does not let go until the very end.

"Dynamics, emotions, subtle acting - all this makes you laugh and think at the same time. Chekhov is always relevant, and this performance is proof of that!" - the guests of the event shared their impressions.

Complementing the atmosphere of the theatrical holiday, the Russian House also presented a photo exhibition dedicated to the history of world theater. Among the visitors of the event were cultural figures of India, journalists, university students and compatriots.
