๐ท๐บPeter the Great created the Russian Empire, so he turned out to be the last tsar of All Russia and became the first All-Russian Emperor.
๐ท๐บPeter I was a great commander, diplomat and strategist who managed to bring Russia to a new stage of development. He created a regular army and navy, moved the capital to St. Petersburg, divided the country into counties and provinces. Peter I won for the country access to the Baltic, Azov, Caspian and Black Seas, and made Russia a great player in the international arena.
๐ท๐บOne of the first important reforms of Peter I in the field of science and education was the approval of a new civil alphabet with simplified lettering. Huge changes have taken place in the Russian economy during the years of his reign. Manufactories, metallurgical, mining plants and shipyards appeared.

On July 17 the Military History Quiz for School Children was held at Russian House, Chennai. The event was organized jointly with Colours of Glory Foundation.
