๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ #OTD, on September 14, 1959, 65 years ago, the Soviet automatic interplanetary station "Luna-2" reached the surface of the Moon, becoming the first man-made object to touch another celestial body.

๐ŸŒ“ Launched on September 12 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, "Luna-2" made a journey that ended in the Sea of Rains region near the craters Aristillus, Archimedes and Autolycus.

๐ŸŸฃThe "Luna-2" mission was the second most important event in the history of cosmonautics after the flight of Yuri Gagarin, demonstrating the advanced achievements of the Soviet space program. Major scientific achievement is the first direct measurement of the solar wind and confirmation of the Moon's lack of a significant magnetic field and radiation belt.

๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ #OTD, on October 15, 1814, 210 years ago, Mikhail Lermontov, an outstanding Russian poet and novelist whose legacy has become an integral part of the world culture, was born. His works, combining acute social themes with philosophical reflections, had a tremendous influence on the development of Russian literature of the 19-20th centuries.

๐Ÿ“œ Lermontov's creative path covered a wide range of genres: from lyric poems to historical novels. His pen belongs to such masterpieces as โ€œSailโ€, โ€œMtsyriโ€, โ€œHero of Our Timeโ€. The author masterfully intertwined personal experiences with deep analysis of social problems, creating a unique artistic world.

๐ŸŒ„ A special place in the works of Lermontov is taken by Caucasian motifs. The majestic mountains, which have become a source of inspiration for the poet, are reflected in many of his creations, giving them a unique color and depth.
