๐ŸŽ‰These days before the New Year are always filled with the wonderful feelings of miracles, magic and state of wonder.

๐ŸŽ„New Year's Magic happened at Russian House in Chennai on New Year's Eve when the Father Frost (Ded Moroz) & his granddaughter Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden) came to wish Happy New Year to all who believe in wonders.

Children were happily singing New Year's songs, dancing around the Christmas tree, playing the games and, of course, got New Year's gifts from the Father Frost.๐ŸŽ
The event was continued with famous New Year's songs performed by the compatriots Olga Flint and Yuliana Grishanina.

๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽThe wonderful gift for the audience was the inauguration of the 2 exhibitions from the State Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin "Mikhailovskoye": "Christmas and New Year's Greeting Cards Exhibition" and "Meeting with New Year's Fairytale".

The New Year indeed has a unique way of bringing out the childlike wonder and joy in all of us. Wishing you and everyone celebrating a happy and magical New Year filled with joy, prosperity, and wonderful memories!๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™โค

๐ŸŽ„The New Year and Christmas are the holidays that unite people, reminding us of Love โ€“ the highest meaning of human life.
A Greeting Card has been helping to connect and congratulate people dear to us for more than two hundred years.

The exhibitions from the State Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin "Mikhailovskoye" at Russian House in Chennai is a perfect complement to the festive season, creating a nostalgic and joyous experience.

๐ŸŽThe exhibition "Christmas and New Year's Greeting Cards Exhibition" includes Russian greeting cards and postcards of different years from the fund of the youngest department of the State Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin "Mikhailovskoye" โ€“ the Museum Post Office.

๐ŸŽThe "Meeting with the New Year's Fairytale" exhibition, featuring the works of the winners of the Christmas and New Year's Greeting Cards contest, adds a magical touch.
๐Ÿช„The incorporation of Pushkin's fairy tales in the theme not only pays homage to the literary heritage but also brings a sense of storytelling and fantasy to the festive season.

๐Ÿ”ดWe are glad to announce that the exhibitions are open to the visitors from December 22 to January 15!

๐ŸŽ„The holiday season is coming! On New Year's Eve, we tell you where to go on New Year's vacation.

๐Ÿ“ŒTeriberka village, Murmansk region

The atmospheric settlement gets a lot of snow. It's worth seeing old ships and reindeer at the farm there, try sea urchins at any cafe on the shore.
โœจYou can buy jam and tinctures from cloudberries and lingonberries from locals, and fish and scallops from fishermen. But most importantly, if you are lucky, you can celebrate the New Year under the northern lights.

๐Ÿ“ŒPerm Region

In winter, the region is considered one of the most beautiful. Trees are covered with snow and frost, and on Mount Polyud they are pressed to the ground.
โ„๐ŸŒฌIn the Ural Mountains you can ride snowmobiles among frosty rocks and snowy forests. You can also get to the Pillar Grotto - a cave-permit for ancient people. Here you can enjoy a picturesque view of nature.

๐Ÿ“ŒKostroma

๐ŸŽ…The residence of Grandfather Frost is located in Veliky Ustyug, and the house of Snow Maiden - in the cozy town of Kostroma. During New Year's time, residents of different parts of the country tend to come here. Here also lives Snow Maiden's assistant - snow-white cat Stepan Timofeyevich, who welcomes guests without days off and lunch breaks!
Around the main Christmas tree of the city, on Susaninskaya Square, festive events, concerts and fireworks are held.

๐ŸŽ„ From January 13 to 14, Russians and the residents of several neighbouring countries celebrate the Old New Year. But why are there two New Years?

๐Ÿ“…After the October Revolution of 1917, Russia switched from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar. The difference between them is 13 days. Therefore, according to the new style, the New Year begins on January 1, and according to the old style, on January 14.
The public did not immediately change its mind.
๐ŸŽ‰This is how two holidays appeared in Russia.

โ„ The traditions of celebrating the Old New Year are followed today too - people go to visit each other, get together with the family and tell fortunes. In some parts of our country, the old custom of โ€œsowingโ€ is also remembered. Young guys go from house to house and scatter grain, thereby wishing the owners of the house well-being.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณIn India, the holiday coincides with Pongal, Makar Sankranti and Lohri among others. Let's celebrate together!
