๐ค๐โค๏ธAltai is an unusual region of Russia. There is only one small town in the republic, but there is a lot of amazing nature.
Today, on Altai Day, we will tell you about 5 places that you should visit:
โฐ According to the belief, the Devil's Finger mountain holds great power that can cure infertility and energize. It offers a breathtaking view of the Katun River valley and the entire Altai region.
๐ There are many types of fish in Teletskoye Lake. The water there is very cold all year round. You can come here as a group or on your own to fish, enjoy the tranquility, and admire the picturesque views. There is also a ski resort nearby where you can enjoy winter activities. There are 5 Multa Lakes, and they are the most popular locations for tourists. These lakes are inhabited by predatory fish such as grayling . Fishing there is not prohibited.
โฐ The Katu-Yaryk Pass is only thirty years old - until 1989 it was a horse trail. Climbing it is scary because of the serpentine. However, from this location you can see colorful mountains, turbulent mountain streams, waterfalls, and centuries-old trees.
โฐ At the confluence of the Chuya and Katun rivers, you can see a picturesque landscape. There, you will find clean water and fresh air. This place is also known as Camel's Neck because the bend of the river really resembles it.

๐Lake Seydozero, Murmansk Region
๐บ๏ธLake Seydozero is a small mountain lake located in the Murmansk region, 8 kilometers long.
๐ฟLake Seydozero is considered a place with a special energy zone - anomalous natural phenomena have been recorded here. The remains of an ancient civilization called Hyperborea were found near it.
๐The water in the lake is almost transparent. Nearby is a protected zone where sport and amateur fishing, gathering berries and mushrooms, organizing camping and campfires in specially designated places are allowed.
๐The rock with Kuiva's image is considered to be Seydozero's attraction. According to legend, Kuiva is a frozen stone figure of a warrior. It enjoys special respect among the locals.
From one point of view, it is a symbol of spiritual liberation of man. In his right hand is a symbol of Allat in the form of a crescent moon or horn. The dark spot to the right looks like a bird, the image of which denotes the front essence of man.

๐ฐDo you know where the famous philosopher Immanuel Kant is buried? In the Cathedral in Kaliningrad.
โ The Cathedral was founded in the fourteenth century.
โ The location in the heart of Kรถnigsberg-Kaliningrad, on the island of Kneiphof destroyed by English aviation in 1944, as well as the memorial burial of Immanuel Kant near the northern wall and the dramatic history of destruction and revival made the Cathedral a symbol of the city, its architectural dominant and the main place of attraction for everyone who comes to Kaliningrad.
โ The soil on which the cathedral was built was marshy, and so hundreds of oak poles were put into the ground before the construction of the cathedral could begin. After a relatively short period of almost 50 years, the cathedral was largely completed by 1380, while works on the interior frescoes lasted until the end of the 14th century.
โ The walls of the cathedral were painted by unknown artists and representatives of the school of the outstanding German painter Albrecht Dรผrer. There is also a beautiful organ there. In 1718-1721 it was replaced by a more powerful one. Today it is considered the largest in Russia.
โ There are Lutheran and Orthodox chapels at the cathedral. There is also an academic concert hall and a museum of Immanuel Kant.
โ In addition, the adjacent open-air square regularly hosts music festivals and fairs.
Hundreds of thousands of people visit the cathedral every year.

๐ชจIt is known that ancient people drew on rocks everything that surrounded them: animals, people, everyday objects. There are many places in Russia where you can see real rock paintings: in Bashkiria, the Altai Mountains, Karelia, Murmansk region, Khakassia, Yakutia, Tomsk. We will tell you about some of them.
๐ปUrals: Kapova Cave
More than 70 places where monuments of ancient art were found in the Urals have been discovered. They are located in the valleys of the Vishera, Neiva, Iset, Belaya, Tura and Tagil rivers.
๐ฆ๐There you can see images of moose and deer, ducks, snakes and geese. There are even drawings, within which internal organs or bones are outlined. On the rocks there are also circles, straight lines. This may be related to mythology - local peoples especially revered rocks.
They painted with special colors: natural pigment, usually ochre, was mixed with animal fat.
๐ปMountain Altai: Kalbak-Tash
Kalbak-Tash is located near the junction of the Chuya and Katun rivers. On the right bank of the Chuya River you can see rock carvings from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages.
๐ฆThe earliest drawings are figures of deer and elk. Later they began to depict scenes of hunting and warriors with weapons, chariots and women.
It is believed that in the middle of the II millennium B.C. drawings of domestic bulls with wagons or riders began to appear here, and in the beginning of our era - horses, deer, ibexes and wolves. In total, more than five thousand images were discovered on the rocks of Kalbak-Tash.

๐ชจ Tavda caves are one of the most visited places in Altai. The caves are more than 1 million years old. Archeologists' findings show that people lived here during the Iron and Bronze Ages. Let's tell you why you should visit this spectacular place.
We advise you to start with the most popular cave โ Bolshaya Tavdinskaya, which is also called "Maiden's Tears". This romantic name is explained by the fact that even during the dry summer you can see streams of water flowing down the walls here.
๐ณ From the Big Cave it is possible to get to other caves through numerous tunnels and passages.
The second most popular cave in the complex is called "Tavdinskaya-2". From the upper part of the stone caves there is an exit to the observation deck, from which you can enjoy the view of the Katun River and the mountains.
๐ It is also necessary to visit the Talda Karst Arch, located at a height of 80 meters. This arch is a part of a collapsed cave. This natural monument is considered magical: according to legend, if you walk around the arch pillar three times clockwise, any wish will come true.

๐ฐKolomenskoye was first mentioned in the mid-14th century, and was the favorite residence of many Russian rulers.
๐The dawn of the estate is linked with the reign of Alexei Romanov who built a beautiful palace here.
๐ณThereโs a legend that Peter the Great was born here. His place of birth is unknown but the local oak trees are named after him: Petrovskiye. Oaks that remember Peter the Great are still there and you can take a rest in their shade.

๐๐ท๐บLet's travel today to the Saint Petersburg's outskirts, Royal Residence Gatchina!
๐ฐThe royal residence became a city in the late XVIII century, when its owner was Emperor Paul I, he was actively engaged in the rebuilding and arrangement of the territory.
โGatchina was the first place where the long-distance telephone network was tested. In 1882 (6 years after the telephone was invented), the first telephone line in Russia was laid in the town.
๐กIn 1881 for the first time in the Russian Empire in Gatchina there was electric street lighting.
๐Another interesting fact! In 1900, the first monorail in Russia was tested in the city. On it an open suspended carriage worked. It could accommodate up to 20 people.
๐ฐIf you're planning a trip with children, they'll love the Palace Farm! (https://gatchinapalace.ru/park/farm/) It is home for a variety of animals, from Yakutian huskies to white peacocks.
