๐ฉฐWhere in Russia can you see interesting artifacts of Russian ballet - from the 19th century pointe shoes to personal records of famous dancers?
๐ธMuseum of Theatrical and Musical Art
It was first opened to the public in 1921. Today the museum presents about 500 thousand items: rare ballet artifacts, pointe shoes of different eras and other things. One can also see an imitation of a ballet machine at which Nikolai Tsiskaridze himself gives a virtual lesson. There are also models of different theaters with animated scenery. The exhibitions are held in many countries and are an enduring success.
๐ธBolshoi Theater Museum
It appeared only in 1918, but the exhibits were not exhibited for several more years. Here you can see 22 collections and more than 15 thousand sketches of scenery and costumes, including a complete set of theatrical costumes of the famous performer of the role of Lensky in "Eugene Onegin" Leonid Sobinov. The diary of Vatslav Nijinsky, a dancer of the Mariinsky Theater, is also kept there.
๐ธMuseum-apartment of Maya Plisetskaya
Ballerina Maya Plisetskaya lived in this apartment until 1990. Here you can visit her bedroom, kitchen, dressing room, and her husband's office. In the corridor are gifts of fans. For example, Japanese and Spanish dolls. The collection also consists of archival materials.
