The officials continued the discussion of the situation in and around #Syria, and stressed the need for further coordination in the context of the intra-Syria talks to be held in Astana.

The ministers also discussed issues of bilateral Russian-Iranian cooperation.

🇷🇺🇮🇷 On September 22, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The Ministers held an interested exchange of views on key international topics. They touched upon current regional issues with a focus on the situation in the South Caucasus.

The discussion also focused on the main issues on the bilateral agenda. Moscow and Tehran reaffirmed their intention to further enhance political dialogue at various levels and beneficial cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
