Reverse Engineer
Project: The App manages gig work and helps users find new gigs with its platform. Based in San Francisco, California. Reverse engineers help to understand how major gig platforms work.
Responsibilities
- They would be investigating how Frida or Ghidra could be used to investigate the inner workings of iOS and android apps
- They might investigate the safety net android service to understand its capabilities and limitations
- The tech stack isn't very relevant for this position - this is more of a pure research position where 80%-90% of the time will not be on our core tech stack. That being said, the backend tech is on google cloud with node.js, google cloud functions, firebase, and firestore.
- Understand how a company’s internal APIs work by looking at their apps
- Consistently ship user-facing features
Read, write, and review design docs for product features and architecture changes
- Understand and be able to reverse engineer authentication processes both in web and mobile apps
- Have experience with one or more dynamic or static analysis tools like Frida, Ghidra, IPA Pro, Jadx, etc.
- have experience building or are in learning to build across the stack
Requirements:
- Experience with Ghidra, Frida, IPA Pro, Jadx, etc.
- Stack experience: Node.js, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (functions), Firebase, Firestore.
- Typescript experience preferred.
- Experience with iOS and Android systems.
- Experience with Kanban.
- English level: Fluent - B2-C1
Working conditions:
- Salary: 4000-7000 $+
- fulltime
- remote
- overlap 4-6 hours with the east coast of the US - New York working hours (10 AM - 6 PM).
