Everyone thinks the best way to help with OpenBSD ports, is to find something you use that hasn't been ported and create a port of it. This talk will discuss this and other misconceptions, how best to actually help OpenBSD porters with their work, and tips for how to get one's work noticed on the OpenBSD ports lists. The talk will contain examples of good submissions and counterexamples likely to get ignored (these will be made up, I will not be singling out people).

The OpenBSD Hypervisor in the wild, a short story.
OpenBSD Amsterdam started in the summer of 2018 after a poll on Twitter as an idea to start testing with vmm(4)/vmd(8). Mostly to see how far we could take it and more importantly to give back to the project. Little did we know where it would take us.
During this talk I will outline how it all started, how it’s build, how we operate the platform and what speedbumps we encountered.

FOSDEM 2020 videos.
Video recordings from FOSDEM 2020 are now available. The OpenBSD presentations were:
• Giovanni Bechis (giovanni@) - OpenSMTPD over the clouds, the story of an HA setup.
• Florian Obser (florian@) - unwind(8), A privilege-separated, validating DNS recursive nameserver for every laptop.

Building a Large-Scale Threat Intelligence System with OpenBSD.
In this talk I describe a threat intelligence system that leverages thousands of OpenBSD firewalls deployed at businesses across a wide range of industries. The data is collected, processed, and analyzed to create tactical threat intelligence feeds that are then automatically disseminated back to all the firewalls to defend against Internet threats. The talk discusses why OpenBSD was selected as the platform of choice and how its features are used to achieve the objectives of this system, as well as challenges and lessons learned.
