A man in Florida, in his 80s, calls his son in New York.

The father says to the son: “I hate to tell you, but we’ve got some troubles here in the house. Your mother and I can’t stand each other anymore, and we’re getting a divorce. I’ve had it! I want to live out the rest of my years in peace. I’m telling you now, so you and your sister shouldn’t go into shock later when I move out.”

He hangs up, and the son immediately calls his sister in the Hamptons and tells her the news.

The sister says: “I’ll handle this!”She calls Florida and says to her father: “Don’t do anything until we get there! We’ll be there Wednesday night.” The father agrees: “All right.”

🍷He hangs up the phone and hollers to his wife: “Okay, they’re coming for Thanksgiving. Now, what are we going to tell them for Christmas?”

✨Я решила почитать статью, которая давненько лежит у меня в отложках.

📱Статья была про эмоциональное выгорание. Я вообще очень люблю психологию и часто смотрю популярно-психологические статьи/видосы/книжки.

Тезисно о 4 шагах, чтобы выйти из этого состояния:

1️⃣ Заметьте тревожные сигналы
2️⃣ Разорвите порочный круг стресса
3️⃣ Установите и уважайте свои личные границы
4️⃣ Поймите, к какому типу эмоционального выгорания вы приближаетесь

☕️Статья небольшая, но интересная) было интересно прочитать подобное именно из англоязычного источника. Попутно составила для себя список фразочек, которые я раньше не знала/часто встречала, но не знала смысл.

⚡️Я давно не говорила на канале о 2 вещах: о "Коралине" (которую я успеваю читать по паре абзацев в неделю) и о подкастах (последний раз две или три нелели назад выкладывала что-то). Так что исправляюсь!)

✅Нашла аудиокнижку "Коралины" в начитке автора, самого Нила Геймана. Начитка медленная, приятная, в самый раз для тех, кто хочет прокачать слушание)

📌1 cup of raisins
📌1 cup of currants
📌1 cup of chopped mixed peel
📌1 cup of chopped almonds
📌1 cup of breadcrumbs
📌1 cup of brown sugar
📌1 cup of flour
📌1 teaspoon of mixed spice
📌1 teaspoon of cinnamon
📌1 teaspoon of nutmeg
📌1 cup of melted butter
📌4 eggs
📌1 cup of brandy

🤓In a large mixing bowl, combine the raisins, currants, mixed peel, and chopped almonds.
Mix well to ensure an even distribution of ingredients.

😎Add the breadcrumbs, brown sugar, flour, mixed spice, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the fruit and nut mixture.
Stir until all the ingredients are well combined.

🥸In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and brandy.
Pour this mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is thoroughly combined.

🤩Grease a pudding basin with butter and line the base with parchment paper.
This will prevent the pudding from sticking to the basin during cooking.

🥳Spoon the pudding mixture into the prepared basin, pressing it down firmly to remove any air pockets.
Smooth the top with the back of a spoon.

😏Cover the basin with a double layer of parchment paper and secure it with kitchen twine.
Place the basin in a large pot and fill the pot with enough water to reach halfway up the sides of the basin.
Cover the pot with a lid and bring the water to a gentle simmer.
Steam the pudding for 6 hours, checking occasionally to ensure the water level doesn't drop too low.

😒Once the pudding is cooked, remove it from the pot and allow it to cool completely.
Once cooled, remove the parchment paper and replace it with a fresh layer.
Store the pudding in a cool, dark place until Christmas Day.

😞On Christmas Day, reheat the pudding by steaming it for 2 hours.
Carefully remove it from the basin and transfer it to a serving plate.
Decorate with holly or other festive garnishes, and serve with your favorite sauce or brandy butter
