Понеслась коза в рай. Сегодня и меня коснулось: в РФ началась блокировка AutoCAD, в том числе и взломанных версий. По словам пользователей, блокировка коснулась аккаунтов устройств, подключенных к интернету. M0nkrus, я вызываю тебя.

Так, надо подтягивать архитектурно-строительный английский. Купил англо-русский архитектурнй словарь под редакцией Бгашева (это тот персонаж проректор по международной работе МАрхИ) 2009 года. Феерическое барахло. Возможно, новый (который так и не понятно, таки где купить) — будет лучше. Поглядим. В общем, интернет нам в помощь..

Будем по 10 слов учить. Вот первые выписал.
Adhesive: клей, связующее.
Adhesive is a substance that can stick to an object or stick objects together, including glue, resin and epoxy.

Aggregate: заполнитель
Aggregate is a construction material mix, including sand, gravel and other granular materials, that one can mix with other adhesives to create concrete or mortar.

Beam: балка.
This is a piece of material, such as wood or metal, that spans across a structure to support a roof or floor.

Caulk: герметик, конопатить, конопатка.
This is a sealant used to keep water and moisture from seeping through cracks. Caulk is common around pipes, windows and doors.
In the process of natural shrinkage of the house, the initial state of the walls does not change: it is not necessary to caulk and cut excess jute, as it happens in the construction of unprofiled timber.

Oakum, tow (tarred — с дёгтем, просмоленный): пакля.
Man is fire, woman is tow; the devil comes with a bellows.
Previously, cement or tow was used for these purposes, but this took a lot of time and effort, while the quality of adhesion of materials to each other sometimes left much to be desired.
In the old oakum caulked cracks in wooden structures (walls of houses, boarded boats and ships), thus ensuring their water resistance and insulation properties.
Oakum is a preparation of tarred fibre used to seal gaps. Its main traditional applications were in shipbuilding, for caulking or packing the joints of timbers in wooden vessels and the deck planking of iron and steel ships; in plumbing, for sealing joints in cast iron pipe; and in log cabins for chinking. In ship caulking, it was forced into the seams using a hammer and a caulking iron, then sealed into place with hot pitch. It is also referenced frequently as a medical supply for medieval surgeons, often used along with bandages for sealing wounds.
In the textile industry, a tow (or hards) is a coarse, broken fibre, removed during processing flax, hemp, or jute and separated from the shives. Flax tows are often used as upholstery stuffing and oakum. Tows in general are frequently cut up to produce staple fibre. The very light color of flax tow is the source of the word "towhead", meaning a person with naturally light blond hair.

Circuit breaker: эл. пробка/эл. автомат.
A circuit breaker is an electric switch that prevents excess electrical current to protect the electrical circuit.

Concrete: бетончик.
This is a building material poured into molds. Concrete is made out of water, sand, gravel and other materials, and it can be used for slabs, driveways and columns.

Drill: дрель, сверло, бур + глаголы.
A drill is a power tool that can drive screws and other bits into holes, walls, floors and other materials.

Drywall: гипсокартон.
Drywall is a type of panel used to construct walls and ceilings. Drywall is also known as sheet rock, plasterboard and gypsum board.

Ducts: воздуховоды.
Ducts are the passages for heating, ventilation and air systems to carry air throughout a structure.

Insulation: теплоизоляция.
This material fills walls to keep sound or heat from transporting from one area of a building to another. Insulation materials include foam, cellulose, fiberglass and foils.

Jigsaw: электролобзик.
A jigsaw is a power tool that can cut irregular curves in materials. A jigsaw has a saw blade and a motor to cut at high speeds.

Mortar: строительный раствор.
Mortar is material, including clay or asphalt, that binds together materials in walls, such as bricks.

Pallet: паллета, поддон.
This is an inexpensive wooden platform used for moving or storing materials. Typically, pallets are moved with forklifts.

Particle board: ДСП — древесностружечная плита.
Similar to plywood, this is a type of board made of resin and sawdust.

Plywood: фанера.
Plywood is a type of wood manufacturers make by gluing thin layers of wood together.

PVC: ПВХ — поливинилхлорид, винил, пластик, из которого часто делают ПВХ трубы.
Short for polyvinyl chloride, this is a common form of plastic, especially in PVC pipes.

Rafter: стропило.
Rafters are the supporting pieces underneath roof frames. Wood and steel are both common rafter materials.

Table saw: настольная дисковая пила.
This type of saw mounts on a table. Table saws have motors and can make precise cuts.

Trim: отделка, обрамление.
Trim is another word for molding and baseboards in buildings. Construction specialists typically place trim along floors, around windows and around door frames.
One of the most distinctive details is the trim around the side air vents.

Veneer: шпон.
This is a thin sheet of wood that can be cover lower-quality wood to improve its appearance.
Wood and veneer: these are models that use wood for the interior of the door and then cover it with veneer to save costs.

This construction term refers to when a client chooses between different contractor bids. The bid selection process includes analyzing the price and specifications of different bids to choose the best option.

Bid solicitation: предложение об участии в торгах.
Bid solicitation gives potential bidders notice of a project that has bidding availability. Bid solicitation includes a request for proposals and quotes.
Under the previous invitation to bid solicitation methodology, an average of five bids with limited geographical diversity was typically received.
No acceptable software provider was identified as a result of the procurement process, however, and a new bid solicitation is under way in 2010, which will subsequently facilitate timely trend analysis to identify actionable performance improvement opportunities and reporting.

Building code: строительные нормы и правила, строительный кодекс.
Building codes are construction requirements that governing agencies enact into law and enforce.

Change order: распоряжение о внесении изменений, процедура внесения изменений.
Change order is a document that serves to change the construction project plan, including specifications, pricing or other details.
Decisions sometimes have to be taken quickly during construction and may require a contractual amendment or change order, with significant extra costs.
In the event of a change order during the course of work, a professional will readjust the completion date accordingly.
