Vienna Educational Mission | Day Two ⚛

How does Russian diplomacy work in Vienna? Today, the participants of the educational mission learned about this firsthand.

📍Permanent Mission of Russia to the International Organizations in Vienna

At the Permanent Mission, Permanent Representative Mikhail Ulyanov briefed young researchers on the specifics of international organizations based in the Austrian capital and addressed questions related to WMD issues.

This was followed by a series of thematic briefings, where Russian diplomats discussed with participants:

🔵nuclear safety and security issues and IAEA safeguards;
🔵CTBT specifics and prospects for the Treaty's entry into force;
🔵aspects of Russian diplomacy at the OSCE platform under current circumstances;
🔵digital diplomacy tools.

📍Russian Embassy in Austria

At the historic Embassy building, participants met with Dmitry Lyubinsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Austria. The discussion covered the specifics of Vienna's diplomatic platform and the future of Russian-Austrian relations.

The working day concluded with a tour of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Vienna.

Tomorrow, our mission will move to Seibersdorf, where participants will explore CTBTO TeST Centre and the IAEA laboratories.
