โ๐ปAs a reminder, after the ๐บ๐ธwithdrawal from the #OpenSkiesTreaty, ๐ท๐บhas proposed specific solutions to the newly arisen problems, but the Western States Parties have not shown any willingness to address them. So, ๐ท๐บhad to begin domestic procedures for the denunciation of the #OST.

Statement by the North Atlantic Council on the Treaty on Open Skies
We deeply regret the notification by Russia of its decision to withdraw from the Treaty on Open Skies, an important legally binding instrument which contributes to transparency, security and stability, and mutual confidence in the Euro-Atlantic area.
๐ฌ ๐ Highlights from Konstantin #Gavrilovโs comments for Russian media on the outcomes of the Conference of States Parties on the consequences of Russia's withdrawal for the OST:
๐ธ ๐ท๐บโs decision to withdraw from the OST is final and currently not subject to revision.
๐ธ It is common sense that we could not leave the territory of our country open for observation flights while realizing that that information obtained during these flights is being shared with Washington. It is unacceptable.
๐ธ Despite the declared readiness of some States Parties to continue participation in the OST, the Treaty's future without the key states - ๐บ๐ธ and ๐ท๐บ - seems vague.
๐ธ Dismantlement of the Treaty will greately increase the inpredictability of military activities in the Euro-Atlantic region. But Russia, just as the U.S. has a group of satellites that can control any movements of the armed forces both in Europe and accross the ocean.
