Russia’s ‘Nauka’ module docked with the International Space Station on 29 July 2021. According to the Khrunichev research and production centre, it has a service life through 2027 with the option of extending it until 2030.
Shortly after the arrival, the new module’s thrusters turned on and rotated the station’s normal orientation by 45 degrees, but attitude control was quickly restored with the help of Russian ‘Zvezda’ service module.

The Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket carrying British OneWeb communication satellites has been installed on the launch pad at Site 31 (Vostok) at the Baikonur spaceport, according to Russia's Roscosmos state agency.
It is scheduled to be launched at 01:23 AM Moscow time on August 20. The rocket will deliver 34 OneWeb satellites into orbit, bringing the total number of satellites in the OneWeb constellation to 288. The delivery process will take three hours and 45 minutes.

🔹During the opening ceremony, Yury Borisov, Director General of Roscosmos, emphasised that the rapid growth of participants in space exploration and satellites in orbit leads to an increasing collision threats. Under these conditions, it is important to develop space monitoring stations and strive for global coverage of space by such means.
🔹Yury Borisov also expressed hope that co-operation between Russia and South Africa will develop in a dynamic manner, and the open complex will not be the last joint project.
🔹According to Humbulani Mudau, CEO of the South African National Space Agency, South Africa plans to dispatch two female astronauts to the International Space Station, and hopes to fulfil this plan in the next two years.

Yuri Borisov, General Director of Roscosmos, has announced promising opportunities for African countries to collaborate on innovative space projects.
Over the past two years, Roscosmos has actively engaged with African nations, and the interest is stronger than ever.
👉 At a recent event with attendees of the General Aerospace Course at Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), Borisov highlighted Roscosmos's readiness to support and collaborate on various initiatives.
🛰 He mentioned that Roscosmos is open to partnering with African countries, specifically on projects involving multi-satellite constellations and the Milky Way near-Earth space control system. Additionally, Roscosmos plans to establish a Russian orbital station and invites interested countries, including those in Africa, to participate in the project.
☝️ The Russian state corporation is prepared to offer opportunities for experiments at the future station, support the construction of national modules for foreign partners, and provide cosmonaut training.
🤝 Russian side expressed its readiness to work with space organizations from Angola, Mali, South Africa, and Zimbabwe who are currently undergoing training at MAI.
