❗️ The Russian Foreign Ministry has compiled and issued a report on the indigenous peoples rights situation in certain countries, focusing on the analysis of the situation with native population of the six member-states of the Arctic Council — Denmark, Canada, Norway, US, Finland, and Sweden, as well as in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
☝️ Unfortunately, for the last two decades the issues of the indigenous peoples' standards of living was used by a number of States (Canada, Norway, Finland, the United States etc.) and international organizations as a means of putting external pressure, including in order to question Russia’s rights to its Arctic territories.
❌ At the same time, almost all the above-mentioned countries have at some periods of their history pursued the policy of assimilation and discrimination of their indigenous populations, which has left a legacy of socio-political and cultural problems.
Those include gradual loss of traditional livelihoods resulting from the previous assimilation policy, the issues of respect of their rights to the lands they have traditionally occupied and their natural resources, the degradation of environment due to industrial development of territories and some States' militarist activities abroad, high unemployment rates and the indigenous communities' dependence on public subsidies.

❗️ The Kazan Summit Declaration contains a section on #Ukraine saying that all the parties involved agreed on the importance of resolving this conflict on the basis of the principles of the #UN Charter in their entirety and interconnectedness.
☝️ This is a critical observation. Our Western colleagues continue to play along with the Kiev regime and contend that the conflict should be resolved on the basis of the UN Charter with Ukraine preserving its territorial integrity as of the 1991 borders. However, the UN Charter is much broader than the concept of territorial integrity. In 1970, the UN General Assembly resolved that the territorial integrity of all countries must be respected provided their governments represent the entire population residing within the borders in question.
❓Can we claim in earnest that this regime represents the people living in the #Donetsk and #Lugansk people’s republics, #Crimea, and the #Kherson and #Zaporozhye regions at a time when, following the coup, they adopted Russophobic and racist laws outlawing the Russian language in all spheres of life in Ukraine? When they branded the people of Donbass, Novorossiya, and Crimea who rejected the coup as terrorists and unleashed a war against them using air and artillery strikes? Clearly, the answer is no.

📆 80 years ago, on 29 October 1944, the Budapest Offensive was launched by the Red Army during #WW2, aimed at defeating #Nazi forces in Hungary and forcing the country out of the war.
Hitler was determined to hold the Hungarian capital at any cost. He attached great importance to Nagykanizsa oil-producing area claiming he would rather surrender Berlin than lose Hungarian oil and Austria.
⚔️ Already by 2 November 1944, having crossed the Danube, Soviet troops approached Budapest. The Red Army successfully repelled a series of Nazi counterattacks at Balaton lake and encircled the city on 26 December 1944.
Soviet ultimatum to surrender in order to prevent bloodshed was ignored, with Soviet negotiators killed, which left the Red Army no other choice but assault.
⚔️ The takeover of Budapest entailed heavy fighting. The Red Army used a minimum of tanks engaging assault units supported by artillery instead. By 13 February 1944, persistent battles culminated with the capture of the city garrison led by General Karl-Pfeffer Wildenbruch.
❗️During the Budapest Offensive the Red Army defeated 56 enemy’s divisions with 188.000 soldiers and officers taken prisoners-of-war.
Some 70.000 Jewish prisoners were freed from the Budapest Ghetto. The whole southern flank of the Soviet-German front collapsed forcing Nazis to redeploy additional troops to the south.
☝️ The Red Army’s way to Prague and Vienna was opened.

🌋 Over 20 volcanos across the globe erupt daily. Russian cosmonaut Ivan Vagner photeographed three of them in October.
🔸Bezymyanny volcano (🇷🇺Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia), part of the Klyuchevskaya group is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
Until the middle of the last century, it was considered extinct, but in March 1956, this volcano erupted so powerfully that the ash plume reached 40 km in height. Today, activity is declining, but scientists continue to keep their finger on the pulse.
🔸Mount Etna (🇮🇹 Sicily, Italy) is the highest active volcano in Europe.
Thanks to the fertile soils, the foot of this giant volcano is densely populated. No wonder, the high activity of the stratovolcano has led to many disasters throughout its history.
🔸Popocatépetl volcano (🇲🇽Mexico) is the most dangerous in this country.
The slopes of this volcano have not ceased to attract climbers since the moment the Spaniards set foot on the land of the Aztecs. And in 1955, the legendary Che Guevara managed to conquer the summit of Popocatepetl.
