📆 79 years ago, on 16 July 1945, world’s first nuclear bomb was detonated in USA’s New Mexico as part of the project aimed at creation of new weapons.

💣 The detonation of the bomb, nicknamed “The Gadget”, left a crater in the desert 1,5 m deep and 9,1 m wide. It was felt over 160 km away with the mushroom cloud reaching 12,1 km in height.

“The Gadget” was of the same design as “The Fat Man” later detonated by the United States over Japan’s Nagasaki.
