Talking points:

#Ukraine

No matter how hard Western sponsors may strive to saturate the Kiev regime with weapons in order to inflict the maximum possible harm on Russia, their efforts are in vain. Even more people will perish, if they continue doing this. Unfortunately, the Kiev regime will not calm down and will continue to perpetrate extremist and terrorist attacks all over the world.

#Moldova

Unlike the collective West, Russia is not interfering with Moldova’s internal affairs. It is not asking for anything, nor is it suggesting that it changes or rewrites anything. Russia does not come up with any pre-conditions. Russia complies with existing agreements and works to promote the relations that have not yet been blocked by Maia Sandu and her team. Unfortunately, Russia is witnessing a situation where the people that came to power in Chisinau under completely different slogans are destroying the country.

🇷🇺🛬 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov arrives in Jakarta to take part in the 18th East Asia Summit #EAS
Forwarded from Russian MFA 🇷🇺
📅 On September 7, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov attended the 18th East Asia Summit (#EAS) held in Jakarta.

During the exchange of views on the main issues on the Asia-Pacific agenda, the Minister informed his partners on Russia’s consistent approach to strengthening the architecture of equal and indivisible security in the region and ensuring its high development pace. He highlighted the importance of maintaining the mechanisms of multilateral cooperation within the framework of #AEAN coordinates in the spirit of a constructive non-politicised dialogue and creative cooperation based on the principles of consensus, mutual respect and a balance of interests.

☝️ Sergey Lavrov pointed out the risks of militarisation in East Asia in light of NATO’s efforts to install its forces and infrastructure in the region based on the West-created bloc mechanisms for network deterrence and the promotion of #AUCUS confrontational project, which provides for the deployment of a military strategic complex with a nuclear component in the region.

He emphasised the importance of building up practical effort within the EAS framework, including the implementation of the Russian initiatives on responding to epidemic threats, developing the tourism industry, and establishing sustainable ties between volunteer organisations in the Asia-Pacific region.

🤝 The Minister reaffirmed Russia’s resolve to create a solid framework of interstate cooperation in the region through the alignment of the capabilities of multilateral mechanisms that are working in the spirit of positive co-development, including the strengthening of constructive interaction between ASEAN, #SCO and #EAEU.
On September 6, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Secretary General of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Salman Al Farisi on the sidelines of the 18th East Asia Summit in Jakarta.

🔹The parties addressed key issues on the IORA’s agenda in the context of the further involvement of Russia (which received dialogue partner status in 2021) in the practical activities of the association. The IORA Secretariat indicated an interest in Russian expertise in the association’s sectoral areas of priority, including cooperation on sea-related issues, on tourism fisheries, and on environmental protection. A high assessment was also given to Russian projects in relation to the blue economy.

☝️ The Russian side emphasised the importance of further building up the applied potential of IORA for harmonious integration into the processes of cross-platform cooperation of a transcontinental nature.

🗣 It is quite telling that Washington, London, and their allies never mention, let alone engage, the foundational charter principle that the Organisation is based on − the principle of the sovereign equality of all its members.

This principle is meant to ensure that all countries have a dignified place in the world, regardless of their size, form of government, or political and socioeconomic structure. However, the West is trying to divide the world into democracies which can do as they please, and others, which must serve the interests of the golden billion. Western exceptionalism is epitomised by EU's top diplomat Josep Borrell publicly calling Europe a garden, and the rest of the world a jungle. This is not sovereign equality, but pure colonialism.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s address to participants in the No Statute of Limitations international forum (October 24, 2023)

* * *
77 years ago, on October 1, 1946, the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg delivered a historic verdict, condemning the main Nazi war criminals and legally securing the defeat of the Hitler regime. This truly epoch-making event rightfully went down in history as the Trial of Nations. The Nuremberg trials opened a new page in the development of international law. The foundation of the modern system of international criminal justice was laid then.

The Tribunal established that the Nazi atrocities were on a scale previously unknown in history. War crimes and crimes against humanity were systematically committed, including against the civilian population. Those Nazi organisations that systematically developed and implemented these misanthropic plans are forever outlawed.

🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the Primakov Readings International Forum (Moscow, 27 November 2023):

💬 Proceeding from the principles of equality and mutual respect, the BRICS states are reaching a balance of interests via consensus. Nobody is imposing anything on anybody, nobody is blackmailing anyone and nobody forces anyone to make the choice: “it is either us or them,” “either you are with us or against us.”

It’s no surprise that dozens of states want to get closer to BRICS."
