🎙 Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in view of double standards in the #UNESCO Secretariat

💬 We have taken note of the press release published on the UNESCO website condemning "the bombing that hit a historic building in Lvov last night, located in the buffer zone of the World Heritage Site of Lvov – the Ensemble of the Historic Centre".

With its mentor-like statement, designed primarily for Western capitals, the Secretariat of the Organisation has once again demonstrated a biased and inconsistent approach, characterised by the division of countries into "good" and "bad".

☝️ It is to be recalled that despite the Russian Federation's demarche following the terrorist attack on the World Heritage site The Moscow Kremlin and Red Square, this Ukrainian crime, in flagrant violation of the 1954 Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and the 1972 Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, was not dealt with publicly by the Director-General of the Organisation.

In the same way, in violation of the established practice and authority vested in Audrey Azoulay, she refuses to condemn the brutal murders by Ukrainian national radicals of Russian journalists Darya Dugina, Oleg Klokov and Vladlen Tatarsky with stubbornness worthy of a better cause.

<...>

❗️ By doing so, the institution at the very least sanctions, if not condones, the aggressive neo-Nazi course of the current Kiev regime.

⚡️ Against the background of the disruption of the next wave of mobilisation in Ukraine and in order to conceal the catastrophic losses of military personnel in the AFU, the Kiev regime has stepped up recruitment work in Asian, Latin American and Middle Eastern countries to attract foreign mercenaries.

▫️ In total, since 24 February 2022, 11675 foreign mercenaries from 84 countries have officially arrived in Ukraine to participate in the combat operations on the side of the AFU. The largest number of mercenaries came to Ukraine in March-April 2022, but after the first losses were suffered, the dynamics of their arrival has sharply decreased. The most numerous groups came from Poland (over 2,600 people), the USA and Canada (900 or more people), Georgia (over 800 people), the UK and Romania (700 or more people each), Croatia (over 300 people), as well as from France and the Turkish-controlled part of Syria (200 or more people each).

▫️ As of 30 June, 4,845 foreign mercenaries, the vast majority from the United States, Canada and European countries, have been reliably confirmed killed in the fighting. Another 4,801 foreign fighters escaped from the territory of Ukraine after dealing with the attitude of the Kiev regime towards them. Today, 2,029 mercenaries continue to operate in the ranks of the AFU.

▫️ According to the information obtained during interrogations of captured Ukrainian servicemen, the commanders of AFU units operating on the line of contact are not held accountable for losses among foreign mercenaries. The Ukrainian command treat the foreign mercenaries as cannon fodder, sending them at Russian positions in the first place. The evacuation of wounded mercenaries is organised on a residual principle, only after Ukrainian servicemen are removed.

▫️ Due to the high losses of personnel, the Kiev regime has reportedly launched the recruitment of foreign mercenaries in Argentina, Brazil, Afghanistan, Iraq and in the American-controlled areas of Syria over the past month. In connection with the multiple drop in interest in dying ‘for the Kiev regime’ in Poland, the United Kingdom and other European countries, recruitment activities have been stepped up in the United States of America and Canada. This work is being carried out on the basis of Ukrainian foreign institutions with the assistance of Western intelligence services, primarily the CIA and private military companies under its control (Academi, Cubic and Dean Corporation).

▫️ Foreign mercenaries are used by the Kiev regime as ‘cannon fodder’. Their lives are not spared by anyone in the Ukrainian command. Therefore, they have only one choice - to escape from Ukraine or die.

▫️ The Russian Armed Forces will continue to eliminate foreign mercenaries regardless of their location on Ukrainian territory during the special military operation.

#Opinion by Maria Zakharova

💬 On February 28, 2022, Biden’s press secretary Jen Psaki said that the use of cluster bombs would be a war crime.

Over a year later, Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor to US President Joe Biden, said at a briefing that the White House would provide cluster munitions to Ukraine.

We are looking forward to what Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will say 🎪

UPD. They decided to give the floor to the boss: President Biden said that it was a “difficult decision” to provide Ukraine with cluster munitions, but Ukrainians “need them.”

He forgot to add that dead Ukrainians need them especially badly.

🇷🇺 🇨🇳 More than 70% of Russia–China settlements are executed in yuan and ruble

By Xi Jinping:
China is ready to contribute to building a prosperous, stable and just world order jointly with Russia, as well as developing the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation.

Chinese-Russian relations are maintaining healthy and stable dynamics of development.

🕯On July 11-12, 1943, 80 years ago, militants of the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists attacked 150 communities with Polish populations, in one of the bloodiest instances of the months-long ethnic cleansing in Volhynia, also known as the Volyn Tragedy.

▪️According to independent historians, a total of 100,000-130,000 Poles were killed in 1943

▪️Ukrainian nationalists exterminated not only Poles, but also representatives of other ethnic groups such as Jews and Czechs.

▪️In 2016, the Polish Parliament recognised the events in Volhynia as a genocide of the Polish people.

☝️Russia calls on the Polish authorities, for the sake of the memory of those who died in the terrible massacre in Volhynia, to stop recklessly supporting the Kiev regime.

❗️The crimes they have been committing against the residents of Donbass, against Russian speakers, are nothing less than an attempt to continue what Ukrainian nationalists did during WWII

🎙 Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Japan’s statements on ensuring security at Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant

💬 Maria Zakharova: We have noted the statements by Japanese officials, specifically by Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan Hirokazu Matsuno and the Minister for Foreign Affairs Yoshimasa Hayashi, who expressed concerns over the security at Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant amidst the fake reports being spread by the Kiev regime about a ‘Russian provocation’ allegedly being prepared at the site.

We are surprised at the peremptory manner in which Tokyo is responding to rumours that have no actual evidence, as we have repeatedly stated.

☝️ Instead of talking about a facility located thousands of miles away from Japan, the country’s authorities should be concerned about their own nuclear security issues – such as the situation regarding the discharge of radioactive wastewater from Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, which has a direct negative impact on the interests of neighbouring states, including Russia, and has caused a strong response from the public.

We would like to recall a wise biblical saying and recommend that official Tokyo stop seeing a speck in another’s eye while failing to notice the log in their own.

🎙 Sergey Lavrov’s written interview with Indonesian newspaper Kompas (July 11, 2023)

• Viewing Ukraine as a military ram against Russia, the United States and the EU countries were pushing the Kiev regime to resolve the “Donbass problem” by force – through the ethnic cleansing of its Russian and Russian-speaking residents.

• The armed confrontation in Ukraine will continue until the West gives up its plans to preserve its domination and overcome its obsessive desire to inflict on Russia a strategic defeat at the hands of its Kiev puppets.

• We do not define the current phase of international relations as a new Cold War. The issue at hand is different and is about something different, namely, the formation of a multipolar international order. This is an objective process.

• Unilateral economic sanctions and our Western colleagues’ overall selfish foreign policy undermine global food and energy security. Their actions have complicated things for the developing countries.

• We are working towards strengthening ASEAN architecture for stability and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region. The extrapolation to the Asia-Pacific Region of the negative scenarios that have been staged by the US and NATO in other parts of the world must be prevented.

🇷🇺🇺🇳 Permament Mission of the Russian Federation to the UN:

🎙 Statement by Permanent Representative Vassily Nebenzia at UNSC briefing regarding the acts of sabotage at the Nord Stream pipeline (11 July 2023)

Read in full

💬 At our initiative, the Security Council has remained seized on this matter for several months by now. We note that regardless of the format of discussion and positions of states on the draft resolution that we proposed, almost all Council members unwaveringly condemned this crime and underscored the importance of finding out the truth and identifying the perpetrators.

We expect the authorities of Germany 🇩🇪, Denmark 🇩🇰 and Sweden 🇸🇪 to take concrete steps to conduct an objective and transparent investigation into all the circumstances of what happened with a mandatory involvement of Russian investigative authorities and other interested parties.

<…>

🔹 We have also noted that the authorities of Germany, Denmark and Sweden claim in their joint letter that access to the crime scene is allegedly open. In that case, we will proceed from the assumption that our investigative bodies and experts can examine it independently at any time as part of the criminal proceedings initiated by the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation to look into a case of international terrorism.

<…>

🇷🇺 The Russian Federation will raise the issue of sabotage of Nord Streams in the Security Council until the perpetrators are identified and held accountable.

We will use all means at our disposal to achieve that goal.

<...>

☝️ The Council must make it clear that crimes against transboundary pipeline infrastructure that pose a direct threat to international peace and security will not go unpunished. Only in this way can we prevent the recurrence of such crimes, to which any state can fall victim.

🎞 Today we are once again travelling to a marvelous city in central Russia

Did you know that Uglich is one of the oldest towns in Russia? The results of archeological researches affirm that a settlement, situated at the place of the Uglich Kremlin, existed almost since the beginning of the Christian era.

⚔️ Shrouded in rich history, Uglich witnessed some truly dramatic events, which brought the whole country to the Time of Troubles. In 1591 the younger son of Ivan the Terrible, Prince Dmitry, was murdered here at the age of 10. Later, by the order of the Romanov Tsars, Uglich was turned into a place of pilgrimage.

⛪️ Moreover, the 17th-century Alekseevsky Monastery, along with the beautiful golden-domed Resurrection Monastery, that is defined to be on your Uglich itinerary as well.

📍Located at the picturesque banks of the Volga River, ancient but well-preserved Uglich is an ideal way to get closer to the Russian culture.

Let us explore it with the @tvbrics episode

🇸🇹 Today, Sao Tome and Principe is celebrating Independence Day!

⚓️ As far back as the 15th century, the Portuguese discovered the two islands and founded the first settlements there, gradually turning the new territory into another colony and a transhipment hub for further expansion on the African continent.

🌾 As agriculture developed on the islands, slavery began to thrive in Sao Tome and Principe under Europe’s colonial approach and worldview. Although slavery was officially abolished in 1876, humiliating working conditions persisted at plantations for a long time.

This state of affairs caused well-justified discontent among the local people, and the situation sometimes devolved into civil unrest. The Committee for the Liberation of Sao Tome and Principe was established in 1960, and it was renamed the Movement for the Liberation of Sao Tome and Principe in 1972.

🥀 Following the 1974 Carnation Revolution in Portugal, national liberation movements became more active in Portugal’s colonies. As a result, Sao Tome and Principe declared independence on July 12, 1975.

🤝 The Soviet Union consistently supported the struggle of the people of Sao Tome and Principe for freedom. Our countries established diplomatic relations on August 9, 1975, less than a month after the declaration of independence of the new African state.

🇷🇺🇸🇹 Today, Russia and Sao Tome and Principe maintain friendly ties. We continue to expand mutually beneficial political, trade and economic cooperation. Russia and Sao Tome and Principe retain similar approaches towards the majority of international issues, including the necessity to strengthen the central role of the UN and forging a polycentric world order.

🎊 We congratulate our colleagues on their national day, and wish our friends from Sao Tome and Principe prosperity and well-being!

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with Lenta.ru online newspaper (July 13, 2023)

Key points:

🔸 We have to admit that Vladimir Zelensky’s Western curators completely refuse any form of de-escalation. The Kiev regime has directly and immediately rejected the possibility of talks on peace initiatives proposed by China, Brazil and African countries.

🔸 Must be recognized the new territorial reality following the free expression of the will of residents of the Donbass people’s republics and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions in favour of political integration with Russia.

❗️ The Kiev authorities must guarantee the rights of Russian speakers and ethnic minorities in Ukraine, including the official status of the Russian language.

🔸 We warned the UN Security Council about the plans of the Ukrainian neo-Nazis to destroy the dam back in October last year. The lack of response on the part of the United Nations Secretariat has reinforced the confidence of the Ukrainian authorities that they will get away with it.

🔸 The United States and its NATO satellites are creating risks of a direct armed clash with Russia, and this is fraught with catastrophic consequences.

🔸 Russia is ready to help strengthen the sovereignty of African states and all their security dimensions in every possible way. This is the key idea of the upcoming the Russia-Africa Summit in St Petersburg.

🔸 Aggressive steps by unfriendly states create an existential threat for Russia. We will have to uphold our right to free and sovereign development using all available means.

🔸 We realise that a stronger multipolar world is a reality, rather than someone’s whim. The updated Foreign Policy Concept proclaims Russia’s civilisational mission as a world power.
