☝️ Judging by the number of canals and bridges, it would be more correct to call Venice “St. Petersburg of the South” rather than St. Peterburg – “Venice of the North”.

the #Ural Mountains are the oldest mountains on the planet?

🏔 In the South Urals stands Mount Karandash (Pencil) which is considered to be the oldest in the world, with the age estimated to be around 3,512 billion years (while the age of our planet is estimated by scientists to be around 4,5-4,75 billion years). And it’s not very tall, only 610 meters.

🤔 Nevertheless, in the Guinness Book of Records the title of the oldest is given to the South African Mahonjwa mountains (their age is estimated at 3,6 billion years).
