🌐 World Press Freedom Day is traditionally celebrated on May 3

🗓️ This date was established to remind annually the international community of the importance of media independence and pluralism, as well as ensuring the protection of journalists' rights, was proclaimed by a resolution of the UN General Assembly on December 20, 1993. Relevant commitments have been approved in the #OSCE, but in recent years the situation in this area has only continued to degrade.

❗️On this memorable day, we once again draw attention to the deplorable situation with ensuring freedom of expression and equal access to information in the countries of the "collective West." We have witnessed the incessant arbitrariness against the Russian media and journalists, who have fully felt the repressive machine of the neoliberal world.

🔺 Special attention should be paid to the actions of the criminal Zelensky regime, which has destroyed media freedom in Ukraine and continues a series of brutal reprisals against Russian journalists. Western countries and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media J.Braathu prefer to ignore these crimes.

✍️ In order to preserve the memory of Russian and foreign media workers who have became the victims of the crimes of the Kiev regime since 2014, we would like to draw your attention to the project "The Martyrs for the Truth" prepared by the Donetsk News Agency, Zaporozhye News Agency, Lugansk Media Center, Kherson News Agency in cooperation with a journalist, a member of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights by Alexander Malkevich.
