The Presidents discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda with a focus on practical aspects of developing mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation. They considered the prospects for deeper interaction within integration associations in the Eurasian space. The Leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening Russia-Kazakhstan relations of allied and strategic partnership.

💬 President Putin: I am delighted to welcome you to Russia, to Moscow, and I say this from the bottom of my heart. We will have another meeting in Kyrgyzstan in several days, but your visit to Moscow is a landmark event, and I am grateful to you for this, as well as for the fact that we implemented a project together that we presented today.
It is quite modest, to my mind, but this is the first step, a very important step towards energy cooperation in the region.
We have just had a conversation with heads of energy companies behind closed doors, and we heard their assessments and views. We will, as agreed, issue instructions to create a working group that will analyse all potential scenarios and all possible and perspective steps in this direction.
But, apart from this, we have topics to talk about, we have a huge volume of joint work, since the situation is changing in a very positive way in all areas.
During our meeting today, we will have an opportunity to cover each segment in an informal setting, including industrial production, manufacturing, services, transport and high-tech fields, including space – there are many issues to be discussed here.

The Presidents agreed to step up these efforts.
Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev briefly discussed international and regional matters, particularly as regards Russia’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation.

🗓 Today, on June 5, the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum has kicked off. The main theme of the event is "The Formation of New Areas of Growth as the Cornerstone of a Multipolar World".
Over the years, the Forum has become the world's leading platform for the business community to communicate and discuss key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets and the world as a whole.
👨💼👩💼 More than 17,100 people from 136 countries and territories, as well as 3,400 media representatives are participating in SPIEF-2024.
The plenary session of the Forum will traditionally be addressed by Russia's President Vladimir Putin, who has previously sent greeting to the participants, organisers and guests of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The SPIEF-2024 business programme consists of four thematic tracks:
🔹 The Transition to a Multipolar World Economy;
🔹 Goals and Objectives of Russia’s New Economic Cycle;
🔹 Technologies for Leadership;
🔹 A Healthy Society, Traditional Values and Social Development: The Priority of the State.
The programme includes more than 150 thematic sessions with over 1,000 moderators and speakers.
In addition, events organised by the Russian Foreign Ministry will traditionally take place on the margins of the SPIEF:

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev strongly condemned the barbaric missile attack on civilians in Sevastopol as well. Vladimir Putin thanked him for the words of support.
🤝 Both Sides emphasised willingness to build up cooperation in fighting terrorism.
The Russian President informed his counterpart about the results of his recent visits to Pyongyang and Hanoi.

We appreciate the efforts Kazakhstan has invested to make this event possible. It is in its early phase, but we can already see its scale. It certainly has an international dimension not formally, but substantively. This is my first point.
Second, I would like to note that Kazakhstan, on the one hand, and Russia, on the other hand, are chairing a number of international organisations and hold forums. You are chairing the #SCO and the #CSTO, and Russia is chairing #BRICS and the #CIS. We will support and help each other in this regard.
I would like to thank you for inviting me to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan. Without a doubt, timing my visit to the CSTO Summit is the most rational choice. We will definitely do it. Thank you for the invitation. I certainly accept it.
🤝 With regard to our bilateral relations, we maintain contact at all times. Still, I would be remiss not to note that trade has expanded to almost US$30 billion, over US$28 billion, which is impressive. With over 17 percent of Kazakhstan’s trade, Russia is among its key trade and economic partners.
We are pursuing many important areas of cooperation marked by high levels of collaboration, and many interesting projects. I propose discussing this today as well.
