📍Read extracts from the speech of the Director of the Department for European Cooperation of the MFA of the Russian Federation 🇷🇺 Nikolay Kobrinets at the OSCE Annual Security Review Conference, June 28, 2020:
▫️▪️Western countries have been preparing Ukrainians for war for 8 years, supplying Kiev with increasingly deadly weapons, sending instructors and mercenaries. They deliberately prolong the conflict in order to cause maximum damage to Russia
▫️▪️The West does not want to admit that the reason for our special military operation in Ukraine was long-term refusal to take into account legitimate interests of Russia`s security – arrogance, neocolonial ambitions and ignorance of history impede it. With support and at the behest of Western sponsors Kiev wages war “until the last Ukrainian”
▫️▪️Extremism, whether islamist, right-wing or “Slava-Ukranian” always returns like a boomerang to its inspirers. Extremists will also use NATO weapons, which are already spreading around world. Denazification and demilitarization of Kiev regime will be completed in full
▫️▪️“Ukrainization” of the entire OSCE agenda is a mistake. Polish CiO erodes program work on non-military aspects of security, reschedules and cancels key high-level events
▫️▪️Use of visa and transport obstacles to block dialog by some EU countries and Switzerland is unacceptable. Because of their fault, it is not possible to ensure safe and equal participation in regular meetings of Geneva discussions, human dimension events in Warsaw, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly
▫️▪️We see de facto paralysis of agreed negotiation formats such as Geneva discussions on stability and security in #South_Caucasus, mechanism of Transnistrian settlement 5+2. They have been undermined for the sake of political conjecture
▫️▪️For 30 years we believed in possibility of “pan-European house”, for 8 years we hoped for peaceful solution to Ukrainian crisis through #Minsk agreements. We have not been heard. Now everyone will have to live in another, harsher reality
▫️▪️It will be necessary to develop new rules for non-conflict coexistence. #OSCE with its tools may be useful
▫️▪️Refusal of contacts and normal work with one or more OSCE participating States makes disputes settlement in security area impossible #ASRC
