๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Russia-India diplomatic relations the Russian House in Trivandrum organised a round-table discussion and a paper presentation with participation of students of the Department of International Relations, Central University of Kerala.

๐Ÿ’ฌ They presented their papers on Russia-India ties before experts on international relations โ€” Dr Sandhya Santhosh, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, University College Thiruvananthapuram, and Dr P. Anilkumar, Associate Professor, Central University of Kerala.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Following the presentations, discussions were held on each topic. Deputy Director of the Russian House Kavitha Nair welcomed the experts and students.

๐Ÿ’ณ Honorary Consul of Russia and Director of the Russian House in Trivandrum Ratheesh C. Nair pointed out that the Russian House would publish a collection of the articles prepared by the students.

โœ๏ธ On April 28, the Russian House in Trivandrum hosted the international historical and educational campaign "Dictation of Victory".

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Thirty people of different ages and professions participated in the competition. Among them were students, teachers, journalists, self-employees and government employees.

Associate professor of the Department of History, University College, and Ms Alena Soboleva from Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant led the dictation at the Russian House in Trivandrum.

The Victory Dictation was organised from 26 April in Russia and abroad to create awareness of the historical moments in the Second World War.

๐Ÿ“Œ This helped the new generation to know the role of Russia in creating the present world order. The education was organised worldwide with the support of the Federal agency Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Military Historical Society.

The dictation was held in more than 27,000 sites in Russia and more than 200 sites located abroad. According to tradition, the Victory Museum has become the central site of the Victory Dictation. For the sixth time, the large-scale testing of knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War has already been held.

โ“ Special questions were prepared for the participants in Asia. Those who attended the dictation in Trivandrum attempted to answer the questions in English.

โœ๏ธ In association with the St Petersburg State University, a free Russian language course was inaugurated at the Russian House in Trivandrum.

This special offline orientation class course is the follow-up of the online class, which started in October last year.

๐Ÿ“Š There are three batches, one group for the students who began learning the language last year. The other two began from the A1 level. 50 students from Kerala got the opportunity to learn Russian.

๐Ÿ–‹ Dr Nadezhda Dubinina, an experienced teacher from the  Language Testing Centre under the St Petersburg State University, will be in Trivandrum to conduct classes. There will be weekly three classes of two hours each.

๐Ÿ“– On May 12, the Russian House in Trivandrum hosted the solemn opening of the Russian Literary Festival 2024 dedicated to the 225th birth anniversary of Alexander Pushkin and the 135th birth anniversary of Anna Akhmatova.

๐Ÿ’ฌ The ceremony was addressed by scientists and cultural figures as well as diplomats of the Russian Embassy in India, who emphasized the significance of the Russian classics for the world literature and its role in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. The event was attended by more than 150 people.

โž•Honorary Consul of Russia and Director of the Russian House in Trivandrum Ratheesh C Nair noted that as part of the festival programme, a series of seminars and competitions for students, readings of works by Pushkin and Akhmatova in different languages as well as numerous exhibitions will be organized.

๐Ÿ”– The Festival will last till June 14.

๐ŸŒ On May 12, the Russian House in Trivandrum in cooperation with the Indian Centre of the Russian Geographical Society arranged a seminar dedicated to the International Climate Day celebrated on May 15.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Among those who took part in the event were Ratheesh C Nair, Honorary Consul of Russia & Director of the Russian House in Trivandrum, Amb T.P.Sreenivasan, Ex-Vice Chairman, First Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Dr Sandhya J Nair, Director, Indian Centre of the Russian Geographic Society, diplomats of the Russian Embassy in India and experts.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ The speakers underscored the similarities of Russiaโ€™s and Indiaโ€™s approaches to the issue and called for non-politicising the climate change dialogue.

๐Ÿ™‹ On May 19, as part of the Russian Literary Festival arranged with the support of the "Russkiy Mir" Foundation, an oratory competition themed โ€œThe Role of Russian Writers in World Literatureโ€ was held at the Russian House in Trivandrum.

๐Ÿ’ฌ The leitmotif of all the speeches was the idea that such recognized classics as Alexander Pushkin, Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Anton Chekhov and many others are widely revered not only in their homeland, but all over the world.

๐Ÿ… The winners of the competition were awarded medals, certificates and memorable gifts.

๐Ÿ“ On May 24, 2024, the Russian House in Trivandrum celebrated the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture by organising a seminar on the history of Slavic Culture in Russia.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Secretary of the Indo-Russian History Council, Dr N.Gopakumar, spoke on the difference between the East, West and South Slavs.

๐Ÿ—บ Speaking at the event, Associate Professor of the Department of History, University of Kerala, Dr Robinson Jose, noted that before becoming known to the Roman world, Slavic-speaking tribes were part of the many multi-ethnic confederacies of Eurasia.

๐Ÿ’ฌ The seminar concluded with a lively discussion.

๐Ÿ“ On June 6, as part of the literary festival dedicated to the 225th birth anniversary of Alexander Pushkin, the Russian House in Trivandrum hosted a poetry evening.

๐Ÿ’ฌ More than 20 people from different Indian states read Pushkin's poems in 7 local languages โ€‹โ€‹(Hindi, Malayam, Sanskrit, etc.) and 16 foreign languages, including Russian and Dhivehi.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ The event organized with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation was attended by more than 70 people, including public figures, diplomats accredited in the southern Indian states, students studying the Russian language, and Russian compatriots.

โžก๏ธ Mohanan Kunnummal, Vice Chancellor, University of Kerala, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Participants in the readings received memorable gifts with a portrait of the poet and certificates of participation.

๐ŸŒ On June 14, the Russian House in Trivandrum jointly with the Russian Honorary Consulate hosted a trade conference dedicated to business opportunities in Russia.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ It brought together officials from the largest bank in Russia, Sberbank, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), Trivandrum Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Exporters Association of Kerala, Marine Exporters Association, Kerala Travel Mart, and Hoteliers Association.

๐Ÿ”„ Manufacturers, both from the private and government sectors, and tour operators also participated in the event, which showcased the wide range of industries interested in trade opportunities in Russia.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Among the speakers at the conference were former Chief General Manager of the State Bank of Travancore S.Adikesavan, President of the Trivandrum Chamber of Commerce and Industry S.N. Raghuchandran Nair, former President of the Kerala Travel Mart Baby Mathew, Honorary Consul of Russia and Director of the Russian House in Trivandrum Ratheesh C Nair and many others.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ On July 14, the Russian House in Trivandrum hosted a seminar dedicated to the XXII Russia-India Bilateral Summit held on July 8-9 in Moscow.

๐Ÿค The event was addressed by Indian Minister of State for Oil and Natural Gas, Minister of State for Tourism Suresh Gopi, who noted that the recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia is of great importance for bilateral relations, and also underscored that India's decision to open two more consulates in Russia will contribute to the development of tourism between the two countries.

๐Ÿ’ฌ The list of other speakers at the seminar included Honorary Consul of Russia and Director of the Russian House in Trivandrum Ratheesh Nair, President of the Trivandrum Chamber of Commerce and Industries S.N. Raghuchandran Nair, journalist M.G.Radhakrishnan.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ The event was attended by around 100 people, including leaders of political parties, media representatives, as well as students of international studies.

๐ŸŽ‰ On July 23, the Russian House in Trivandrum hosted the celebrations on the occasion of the International Chess Day.

โ™Ÿ๏ธ Joinly with the International School of Chess, the Russian House organised a one day open chess tournament.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Director of the International School of Chess Unni Krishnan and executive committee members of the Trivandrum Chess Association participated in the inaugural ceremony.

๐Ÿ† Almost 50 players took part in the tournament. The winners were presented with prizes.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Over 40 students participated in the competition.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Honorary Consul of Russia and Director of the Russian House in Trivandrum Ratheesh Nair stated that the winners will be recommended for participation in the "New Generation" programme.
