🌏 On August 18, the first celebration of #BRICS Geographer's Day took place at the Russian Geographical Society Headquarters in Moscow.

⚡️ The celebration was attended by specialists from Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Iran, UAE, Ethiopia, as well as representatives of Russian agencies and organizations, and foreign embassies.

🟣It is expected that the decision to establish BRICS Geographer's Day will be included in the Declaration of the 12th Meeting of BRICS Ministers of Science, Technology and Innovation, which will be held in September 2024, as well as in the final declaration of the BRICS Summit.
