🗓️ March 21 is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

🔹 We note with regret that racism and xenophobia remain widespread phenomena today.

🔹Of particular concern is the growing campaign to rewrite the history of World War II, cynical attempts to whitewash war criminals and their accomplices - those who created and implemented the theory of racial superiority.

📢 We call on #UNESCO to be more actively involved in countering this dangerous trend, primarily through education 📕.
📆Today, 21 March, on World Glacier Day, the UN World Water Development Report was launched at #UNESCO Headquarters. This theme of this year is “Glaciers and Mountains”.

🏔️ It is especially relevant for our country. Thus, the glaciers of Kamchatka are unique natural objects and an important part of the peninsula's ecosystem. The total area of glaciation is about 874 km2, more than 10 % of it falls within the territory of the Kronotsky Biosphere Reserve, which was included in the UNESCO World Network in 1985.

🛰️Thanks to space technologies, Russian specialists have been conducting continuous remote monitoring of the glaciers of this Biosphere Reserve for more than ten years.

📣We wish success to glaciologists and hydrologists, and to all those involved in the conservation of our glaciers!
