#AMD #GPUOpen team is trying to combine SSR (Screen-Space Reflections) with #Raytracing to achieve an optimized balance between performance and quality:

As we wrote before, #UnrealEngine 5 is making something similar with their Lumen technology, that can utilize SSR and other techniques to get Global Illuminations and Reflections, but also able to add Raytracing layer for better quality:
