❗️Most European states pursue an aggressive policy toward Russia aimed at creating threats to the security & sovereignty of Russia, gaining unilateral economic advantages, undermining domestic political stability & eroding traditional Russian spiritual & moral values, & creating obstacles to Russia's cooperation with allies & partners.
☝️Russia intends to consistently defend its national interests by giving priority attention to:
1) reducing & neutralizing threats to security, territorial integrity, sovereignty, traditional spiritual & moral values, & socio-economic development of Russia, its allies & partners from unfriendly European states, #NATO, the EU & the Council of Europe
2) creating conditions for the cessation of unfriendly actions by European states & their associations <...> & for their transition to a long-term policy of good-neighbourliness & mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia
3) the formation of a new model of coexistence by European states to ensure the safe, sovereign & progressive development of Russia, its allies & partners, & durable peace in the European part of Eurasia, taking into account the potential of multilateral formats, including the #OSCE.
Objective prerequisites for the formation of a new model of coexistence with European states are geographical proximity, historically developed deep cultural, humanitarian & economic ties of the peoples & states of the European part of Eurasia. The main factor complicating the normalization of relations between Russia & European states is the strategic course of the USA & their individual allies to draw & deepen dividing lines in the European region.
❗️The realization by the states of Europe that there is no alternative to peaceful coexistence & mutually beneficial equal cooperation with Russia <...> will have a positive effect on the security & welfare of the European region.

📌 Let us think back to the bloody events in the Caucasus in the late 1990s – early 2000s. What was it all about? Everyone was condemning Al-Qaeda, but when Al-Qaeda started fighting us in the Caucasus, that was all forgotten. If there is anything they can use in their fight against Russia, they use it to its fullest, just like they used Al-Qaeda.
📌 Today, they are using neo-Nazis in Ukraine. They forgot that they are dealing with neo-Nazis; no one remembers that or utters a word about it. They have put a well-known person at the helm who is covering for this neo-Nazi cabal, with no end in sight. Nobody hears anything.

👉 NATO is becoming involved in the war in Ukraine. What are we talking about? There are deliveries of military hardware, heavy equipment. Now they are considering supplies of aircraft as well.
🔥 Several tanks, including the Leopards, burned yesterday too. They are burning. The F-16s will be burning too, no doubt about it.
❗️But if they are located at air bases outside Ukraine and are used in hostilities, we will have to think about how and where we can hit the resources that are used against us in the hostilities. There is a serious danger of NATO’s further involvement in this armed conflict.

📌 As far as Mr #Trump is concerned, a host of sanctions and restrictions on Russia were introduced during his presidency. Note that there were no grievous, tragic events in Ukraine, not even a hint of them, yet sanctions were imposed.
☝️But I do not rule out that with a different administration [in the United States], we could have achieved a peaceful settlement plan, which Ukraine and western capitals rejected unfortunately. And they announced this publicly.
🇷🇺 🇺🇸 As for contacts, there are practically none. But we have never declined. If there is any desire to maintain a dialogue with us – welcome, it is not us who refuse to carry on a dialogue with them, they just shifted the focus of this dialogue to arms supplies. We will burn everything they have supplied and see what they will do next.
📌 It would have been better for them to choose another path and seek peaceful means of resolving the dispute, but it has not come to that yet. We see that they are trying to win a victory on the battlefield. Good luck. We will see the result. It did not work so far and is unlikely to.
‼️ President #Biden is an adult person and an experienced politician. It is not my place to teach him. Let him do what he thinks necessary, and we will do what we think is in the interests of the Russian Federation and the people of Russia. And everybody will have to take this into account.

❗️I reject this. It is certainly theoretically possible to use nuclear weapons this way. For Russia, it is possible if there is a threat to our territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty, an existential threat to the Russian state. Nuclear weapons are created to ensure our security, in the broadest sense of the word, and the existence of the Russian state.
☢️ We have more such nuclear weapons than NATO countries. They know about it and never stop trying to persuade us to start nuclear reduction talks. Like hell we will, right? A popular phrase.
🇷🇺🇧🇾 The first nuclear warheads have been delivered to Belarus, but only the first batch. This is an element of deterrence.
☝️ I would like to remind everyone that the only country in the world that has used nuclear weapons against a non-nuclear state is the United States, which has delivered two strikes at cities in Japan: Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Plenary session of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum
Vladimir Putin took part in the plenary session of the 26th St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Key points:
📌 We call on the curators of the Kiev regime to exercise responsibility and exert influence on their 'wards' in order to avoid a large-scale catastrophe.
📌 Western ruling elites should understand that the failures on the battlefield make Kiev eager to create a pretext for the deployment of the NATO contingent to Ukraine, thereby to inflate a regional conflict into World War III.
❗️ American and European citizens are hardly ready to march in orderly rows to the hell, into which the Zelensky government is dragging the entire planet.
📌 News reporters continue to pretend not to notice the obvious: from the very beginning of the special military operation, all the accusations of the Zelensky regime against us turned out to be sabotage operations of Kiev itself. Suffice it to say what happened to the Kakhovka dam, Bucha and Kramatorsk.
‼️ This time stakes have grown substantially: Europe's nuclear security is at risk.
📌 Russian citizens work at the facility. #IAEA experts, who cannot but know who is shelling the ZNPP, are present there on a rotational basis, too. The reactors are protected.
📌 However, besides power units there are more vulnerable infrastructure facilities: cooling systems, storage sites for fresh fuel and nuclear waste. Any projectile hit is extremely dangerous as radiation contamination of vast territories can follow.
📌 Observers are actually playing along with the criminal intentions of the Ukrainian authorities ahead of the #NATO summit.
📌 The criminal intentions are:
▪️to use a terrorist attack in order to slander Russia as a 'nuclear terrorist;
▪️to divert attention from the failed counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in which the West has invested enormous resources;
▪️to use the provocation so as to draw the Alliance directly into the conflict.

💬 We have held the annual Ministerial Meeting between Russia and ASEAN Member Countries once again. The meeting involved the Secretary-General of this organisation. We prioritised such aspects as high technologies, digitalisation and smart cities. We had a separate discussion of our collaboration on countering new challenges and threats. Cooperation between #ASEAN and the Eurasian Economic Union (#EAEU) is another issue.
We are expecting ASEAN representatives at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok in September 2023. We have drafted specific plans aiming to expand practical cooperation in various fields and in the interests of all participants.
On #NATO policy in the Asia-Pacific region
💬 It is true that the ASEAN approaches are now going through a serious test because of the desire of the US and its allies to replace the ASEAN-centric security architecture in the Asia-Pacific region, which took shape over decades and suited everyone until recently, with their “Indo-Pacific strategies” and NATO expansion in this region.
Japan and South Korea already told that they are willing to deploy American nuclear weapons on their territory or to acquire their own. This is a seriously dangerous trend.
#JCPOA
💬 I am not very optimistic about the prospects of resuming the JCPOA. Another point is that, along with this stalled and withered process, the Iranians and the Americans are engaged in unofficial and direct contact below the radar on normalising their relations by unblocking Iran’s seized foreign reserves in exchange for deciding the fate of certain US citizens who were charged with breaking the law in Iran.
We will only welcome any improvement in these relations. Once again, this has little to do with the JCPOA.

• The United States and the European Union are trying to impose a distorted vision on Tbilisi which consists of dividing everyone into those who are with us and those who are against us. Meanwhile, it seems that Georgian authorities have opted for a sovereign policy which meets the country’s national interests. They refuse to act as pawns manipulated by the West in its effort to destabilise Georgia, undermine its economy and incite escalation in its relations with Russia.

• The Syrians’ hopes for improvements after a convincing defeat of international terrorism, including with the help of Russia’s Aerospace Forces, have not materialised.
• Washington, which has effectively occupied the resource-rich north-eastern part of Syria and is putting serious sanctions pressure on Damascus together with a coalition of its satellites, bears a great deal of blame for this. This line for strangling the Syrian economy stirred up social discontent.
• Trying to maintain its influence [in the Middle East and North Africa], Washington actively interfered in the internal affairs of Arab countries and aggressively drew new dividing lines there. Iraq and Libya are still trying to clear up the consequences of the Americans and their satellites’ reckless behaviour.

• The Americans are taking inciting actions in the Taiwan Strait and supplying weapons to Taipei while forging a quasi-political dialogue with the local authorities.
