🇷🇺🇵🇰 On May 4, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a meeting with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the sidelines of the meeting of the SCO Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Goa, India.
They discussed the current state of Russian-Pakistani relations, regional and international affairs, and exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan.
The Ministers praised Russia and Pakistan's interaction on the global stage, including at high-profile multilateral platforms such as the #UN and the #SCO.
🤝 The officials agreed to further expand contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

The conversation focused on the current bilateral and international agenda, including Ukraine and Afghanistan. The Parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to building up bilateral trade and economic cooperation and interaction on regional and international issues.

🇷🇺🇵🇰 In Beijing, President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Acting Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar.
💬 President Putin: Russia and Pakistan have traditionally enjoyed friendly partnership relations.
This year, our countries marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. However, our main focus is on ensuring regional security and stability.
Regarding the economy, Russia has traditionally been a supplier of food and grains. Last year, bilateral trade increased to acceptable levels overall. In just the first several months of this year, I believe, Russia has exported one million tonnes of grain to your country. We are prepared to fulfil our commitments and, notably, the prerequisites for this are in place.
Last year, we had a record-breaking harvest of 158 million tonnes of grain. This year looks promising as well, and it is clear now that it will be around 137–138 million tonnes. In other words, our export potential will be substantial, nearly the same as last year, around 50–60 million tonnes.
However, our capacity in trade and the economy goes far beyond that; the potential is much greater. Today, we will discuss this, and hear from our colleagues. I hope to hear what your colleagues have to say as well. Let us exchange opinions and ideas on what else we can do to advance our relations across all areas of interest.

💬 Vladimir Putin: We met two years ago, also on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (#SCO) Summit in Samarkand, where we had the opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and our cooperation on the international stage.
I would like to note that during this time, relations between the two countries have been developing in business-like and friendly spirit. We can also see a growth in trade, and prospects in this sphere look great.
I would like to particularly emphasise two key areas: cooperation in the energy and agro-industrial sectors. We have started supplying energy resources to Pakistan, and we are ready to further increase these supplies. As per your request, Russia is actively working to support Pakistan's food security by increasing grain supplies to the Pakistani market.
Our foreign ministries also cooperate in various international organisations and on international platforms, as I have already mentioned, including the United Nations.
🤝 We are happy to see that our friendly relations have thrived over the decades. I hope that our meeting today will contribute to further strengthening the ties between Russia and Pakistan.
