📆 On October 25, 1854, the #BalaclavaBattle between the armies of Great Britain, France and Turkey on the one hand, and the army of the Russian Empire on the other took place. It was a major set piece during the Crimean War.
⚔️ The battle itself is considered iconic & although it ended in a tie, the Anti-Russian coalition plans collapsed and dozens of British noblemen fell in a senseless attack in what is known in the West as the Charge of the Light Brigade.
