I am deeply honoured and humbled to be recognized with an Honorary Doctorate from University of Groningen, alongside Marianna Mazzucato, Gerrit Hiemstra and Kate Crawford.
I am especially pleased to receive this honour as the University of Groningen celebrates its 410th anniversary.
Keeping people healthy and preventing disease is one of the three key priorities in WHO’s global strategy for the next four years, which our Member States will consider at #WHA77 next week. Together, for #HealthForAll.

The past year has been tumultuous.
But we refused to give up.
Faced with multiple crises, we still see a future of health and peace.
A future reached through a stronger, better funded WHO.
All for health, #HealthForAll.

As I have said many times, investments in health and in universal health coverage should not be seen as a cost, but as an investment in healthy, productive and resilient societies.
Fundamentally, #HealthForAll is a political choice. #WHA77

At the beginning of #WHA77, I asked the delegates to show the world that in these divided and divisive times, nations can still come together to find a common approach to common challenges.
And they have done exactly that and shown the world the meaning of All for Health and #HealthForAll.

I was honoured and humbled to receive UMass Chan Medical School’s honorary Doctor of Science degree and to join the opening of their new education and research building.
The building is the beginning of a new chapter for the School, and for the University. I’m pleased that the School’s emphasis is on primary health care, which is the essential foundation of any health system.

World Refugee Day comes but once a year, but 120 million refugees around the world need access to health care every day.
We thank host countries for their effort to provide care to everyone in need.
We thank partners for their collaboration to protect the most vulnerable.
Today, and every day, we work for #HealthForAll refugees.

Vielen Dank, Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz, for your personal engagement and commitment to #InvestInWHO.
We welcome Germany's commitment to fund WHO with $400 million over the next four years, including more than $260 million in new voluntary funding.
We are deeply grateful for your leadership to mobilize countries to sustainably finance WHO, and to co-host the Investment Round and the #WHS2024 Signature Event.
Prior to the event, the Chancellor and I used the opportunity to touch base on WHO’s work in humanitarian crises, as well as the ongoing #PandemicAccord negotiations.
Thank you, Chancellor, for making the 'All for Health, #HealthForAll' slogan real!

When you need health services, can you access them?
Can you afford them?
Shockingly, for too many people, the answer is no. Many have to choose between health care or their next meal; between medicines or their children's schoolbooks.
#UHCDay is a reminder that #HealthForAll means everyone can access the health services they need, without financial hardship.
That's the world WHO is working for.

WHO staff are our strongest asset.
It’s very moving to see them so committed and so united in supporting our colleague Tania Cernuschi’s fundraising initiative for #HealthForAll.

I have been at WHO for over 10 years. Like my colleagues, I have worked my butt off day and night to fight Covid and work towards universal access to health care. This place frustrates me every day.
Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease occurring in over 120 countries, with around 200 000 new cases reported every year.
But we can eliminate leprosy. That's why on #WorldLeprosyDay, we call on all countries to unite and act to achieve this goal.
Current medical interventions and collaborative efforts have brought us closer, but continued investment in diagnostics, innovative treatments and outreach is essential. #HealthForAll

WHO staff are working around the world to help the people we serve to:
- breathe cleaner air, eat healthier diets, drink safer water and use safer roads;
- get the safe, quality health services and products they need, where and when they need them, without worrying about what it will cost;
- stop outbreaks and deliver lifesaving care in the most difficult and dangerous situations.
Yesterday, I presented my report to the WHO Executive Board, summarizing what my colleagues have achieved in the past year: https://bit.ly/3CLOogp
We remain committed to achieve #HealthForAll and everywhere. #EB156

For decades, WHO has worked with countries to #EndMalaria — 45 countries and 1 territory have been successful so far!
Hope towards a malaria-free world is rising with 25 of 83 endemic countries now reporting fewer than 10 cases per year.
