EXCLUSIVE: Israel and Türkiye Move to Lower Tensions in Syria, Sources Say

Two Israeli sources have confirmed to Clash Report, under condition of anonymity, that Israel and Türkiye have reached a de facto understanding aimed at lowering tensions within Syrian territory. This informal understanding has reportedly contributed to a notable reduction in tensions, as reflected in the tone of recent technical-level talks involving Israeli officials.

"Air operations will continue in a limited and observational capacity," a senior Israeli military official stated. "Depending on Türkiye's deployment patterns, the scope and intensity of these operations may adjust accordingly."

A second Israeli source described the latest meeting as “constructive,” noting that “there is a mutual understanding that these talks are aimed at producing a positive outcome. That, in itself, is a significant step toward de-escalation.”

While Israel has pursued diplomatic avenues to counter Turkish influence in Washington—particularly following a recent meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump—Tel Aviv appears to be taking Trump’s informal recommendation to engage Ankara more seriously.

According to Israeli sources, U.S. officials are being kept informed by both sides on the progress of Israeli-Turkish talks.

Clash Report contacted Turkish officials for comment on the issue, but they chose not to respond.
