📈 Trend Trading
In an uptrend: buy pullbacks to support.
In a downtrend: sell rallies to resistance.
Example:
$BTC at $121.8K pulls back to $119.2K. A trend trader might plan entries near support, with stops and targets set, then trail stops if price breaks highs.

⚡ Day Trading / Scalping
Quick trades on small timeframes using patterns like breakouts, reversals, or “head & shoulders.”
Avg hold: 30–60 min.
Example:
$BTC hits resistance at $120.2K, rejects on lower timeframes, and forms a short setup with a tight stop and modest target.

🕰️ Hold Trading
Holding a position for days or weeks to catch bigger moves.
Example:
$ETH trades at $4,500 amid rumors of a big partnership. A trader holds through the wait, and two weeks later, news breaks – ETH rallies. Patience and funding cost awareness are crucial here.

📝 Practice First
Paper trading = testing strategies without risking capital.
Log your hypothetical trades – entry, stop, target – and check later how they played out. After dozens of tracked setups, you’ll see patterns in what works before going live.

20x sounds exciting… until a tiny dip feels like a free fall.
Example: $200 margin at 20x = $4K position.
$BTC drops 1.5% → you lose $60 (30% of margin) in minutes.
Leverage is a tool, not a lottery ticket.

🛑 No stop-loss, no plan
Hope is not a strategy. One candle can erase your account.
Example: $1K account, risk 1% = $10. Place SL so if you’re wrong, you only lose $10.
Stops don’t limit your profit – they keep you in the game.

💸 Ignoring funding rates
Funding looks tiny until it eats your balance.
Example: Long $5K $ETH, funding +0.03% every 8h. That’s $4.5/day. Hold for a week → -$30 even if price goes sideways.
Always check funding before you click.

😱 FOMO & revenge trades
Miss a breakout, chase the top, flip short, get liquidated again.
We’ve all been there.
If you don’t write your entry, target, and invalidation first – the market writes your PnL for you.

📰 Going heavy on news
CPI, listings, announcements – spreads widen, funding flips, fills slip.
Example: $ETH jumps +1.5% then dumps -2% in 60 seconds. A 15x scalp can’t survive the whiplash.
During news, size down or wait.

📓 No trading journal
If you don’t track, you repeat mistakes.
Log entry, stop, size, result, and mood. After 30 trades you’ll spot patterns – like most losses after midnight or after big wins.
Journals save more than charts.

🪞 Treating perps like spot
Spot lets you “just wait it out.” Perps don’t.
Example: $BTC drops 5%. Spot holders hold. A 10x perp long gets liquidated – game over, even if price bounces later.
Understand margin, mark price, and funding.
