#Haiti: Former provisional president following the 2004 coup Boniface Alexandre (Ind.) passed away from natural causes aged 87 on Friday. His death comes two weeks after that of former PM Jean-Jacques Honorat (Ind.) who died at the age of 92 and was PM after the 1991 coup.

#Haiti: Amidst a widespread crisis of gang violence, Prime Minister and acting President Ariel Henry (Ind.), who is the only remaining national politician in office, has announced his resignation pending the formation of a transitional presidential council.

#Haiti: Acting President and PM Ariel Henry (Ind) has resigned and been replaced by a 9-member transitional council as planned last month. The new PM is Finance Minister Michel Boisvert (Ind), who also served as President for a few minutes before the council took office.

#Haiti: Leslie Voltaire (Fanmi Lavalas, centre-left) has assumed the rotating presidency of Haiti's Transitional Presidential Council, which holds executive powers. The transfer ceremony took place without outgoing council president Edgard Leblanc Fils (OPL, centre-left).

#Haiti: President of the Transitional Presidential Council Leslie Voltaire (Fanmi Lavalas, centre-left) has declared that elections will be held in November 2025. The last national elections in Haiti were in 2016.
