Belize: House Speaker Valerie Woods (PUP, centre) has rejected a no-confidence motion on Friday against PM John Briceño (PUP), filed by Opposition Leader Moses “Shyne” Barrow (UDP, centre-right), citing "improper motives" and unproven "assertions of malfeasance."

#Belize: Polls are open in the 2024 Belizean municipal elections where voters will choose their representatives for 67 municipal seats. In 2021, the ruling PUP (centre) won a historic 65 out of 67 seats to the opposition UDP's (centre-right) 2 out of 67 seats. Military personnel, police officers, election day workers, ambassadors and diplomats living abroad are eligible to vote by proxy.
