#Suriname: Former president Desi Bouterse (NDP, left) has been convicted for his role in December murders in 1982. He will serve 20 years in prison. There is no question of immediate capture.

#Suriname: After he failed to attend his sentencing hearing, police have issued an arrest warrant for ex-President Desirè "Desi" Bouterse (NDP, left). Currently his whereabouts are unknown and neither his wife nor his party say they know where he is.

#Suriname: Former president Desi Bouterse (NDP, left), who led Suriname under military rule from 1980 to 1987 and served as elected president from 2010 to 2020, has died at the age of 79.

Bouterse was convicted for the 1982 murders of fifteen political dissidents.
