🇷🇺On 13 November #Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov took part in the 17th #EastAsiaSummit in #PhnomPenh.
💬 #LAVROV: We are successfully developing relations with a whole range of countries and regional organisations in Africa, Asia (in particular, ASEAN) and Latin America. The overwhelming majority of the countries, obviously, does not support the attempts we have seen in the past years to secure the dominance of the United States and its Western allies on the international arena through force, illegitimate sanctions, ultimatums, blackmail and threats. Nobody likes it.
🔹 I believe that the historical process has already handed down the verdict. Yes, it will be a long historical era of establishing genuine multi-polarity. The West will put up serious resistance. We can already see it.
🔹 Our Western colleagues are demanding that the developing countries across all continents join the anti-Russia sanctions and break off contacts with Russia. These attempts are futile. Aside from votes in a number of international organisations, achieved by dishonest means, these vain attempts of our Western colleagues have not been able to take any tangible shape.
🔹 From now on, we will proceed from this realisation as we build our foreign policy, relying only on the partnerships that have proven to be with people who are capable of negotiating, keeping their word and not trying to benefit from infringing on the interests of others.
🔹 Our motto is the balance of interests. This balance is the core of our foreign policy. It is the only approach that has prospects in international affairs.

🇷🇺🇮🇳🤝 On September 6, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov held talks with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on the sidelines of the 18th East Asia Summit in Jakarta.
The ministers exchanged views on the most pressing issues of bilateral relations and international issues. They discussed practical steps for the further development of trade, economic and energy cooperation, and cooperation in transport and in financial matters.
A mutual desire to increase coordination in multilateral formats, primarily at #UN, as well as within #SCO, #BRICS and #G20, was emphasised.

🤝 On September 6, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov met with Secretary General of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (#IORA) Salman Al Farisi on the sidelines of the 18th East Asia Summit in Jakarta.
The parties addressed key issues on the IORA’s agenda in the context of the further involvement of Russia (which received dialogue partner status in 2021) in the practical activities of the association. The IORA Secretariat indicated an interest in Russian expertise in the association’s sectoral areas of priority, including cooperation on sea-related issues, on tourism fisheries, and on environmental protection. A high assessment was also given to Russian projects in relation to the blue economy.
☝️ The Russian side emphasised the importance of further building up the applied potential of IORA for harmonious integration into the processes of cross-platform cooperation of a transcontinental nature.

📅 On September 7, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov attended the 18th East Asia Summit (#EAS) held in Jakarta.
During the exchange of views on the main issues on the Asia-Pacific agenda, the Minister informed his partners on Russia’s consistent approach to strengthening the architecture of equal and indivisible security in the region and ensuring its high development pace. He highlighted the importance of maintaining the mechanisms of multilateral cooperation within the framework of #ASEAN coordinates in the spirit of a constructive non-politicised dialogue and creative cooperation based on the principles of consensus, mutual respect and a balance of interests.
☝️ Sergey Lavrov pointed out the risks of militarisation in East Asia in light of NATO’s efforts to install its forces and infrastructure in the region based on the West-created bloc mechanisms for network deterrence and the promotion of #AUKUS confrontational project, which provides for the deployment of a military strategic complex with a nuclear component in the region.
He emphasised the importance of building up practical effort within the EAS framework, including the implementation of the Russian initiatives on responding to epidemic threats, developing the tourism industry, and establishing sustainable ties between volunteer organisations in the Asia-Pacific region.
🤝 The Minister reaffirmed Russia’s resolve to create a solid framework of interstate cooperation in the region through the alignment of the capabilities of multilateral mechanisms that are working in the spirit of positive co-development, including the strengthening of constructive interaction between ASEAN, #SCO and #EAEU.
