If you're new to the crypto space, you might've heard the term “halving” but not fully understood what it means. It's one of the most significant events in Bitcoin's lifecycle — and it always stirs the market.

Let’s break it down👀

➡What is Bitcoin Halving?
Bitcoin halving is a scheduled event that cuts the reward for mining new blocks in half. It happens approximately every 4 years and reduces the number of new BTC entering circulation — making Bitcoin more scarce over time. This helps slow down inflation and supports long-term sustainability of the network.

➡What happened in the last halving?
Date: April 20, 2024 ➡ Reward dropped from 6.25 BTC ➝ 3.125 BTC per block
This reward will stay at 3.125 BTC until the next halving — when another 210,000 blocks have been mined.

➡How does it affect the market?
Halving events reduce the rate of BTC supply, increasing scarcity. Historically, this has influenced price growth over time. It can also ripple into the wider crypto market, though the overall impact depends on broader market conditions.

Expected in April 2028 ➡ Block reward will be halved again to 1.5625 BTC.
