🇪🇺🇶🇦🇸🇾🇹🇷 Türkiye officially announced the resumption of the project to transport gas from #Qatar through #Syria and #Turkey to #Europe
The Qatar-Turkey gas pipeline project, which was frozen in 2009, has been brought back on the agenda after the overthrow of the 61-year-old Baath regime in Syria, Anadolu Agency reported.
The new Syrian authorities are already keen to join in the project.
🇸🇦🇯🇴🇸🇾The pipeline was supposed to run through #Saudi_Arabia, #Jordan and Syria, but former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad prevented the project from being realized, and the country's decade-long civil war made it impossible.
❗️If successful, Turkey will become the largest gas hub for Europe, and Qatari gas will flow into the European market in large volumes, thereby ending the “era of dependence” of Brussels on Moscow in the energy sector.
