Learn More about the Sirius Educational Center

The Center was founded in 2015 by the initiative of President Vladimir Putin. About 800 children aged 10 to 17 come here every month and participate in educational programs in three key areas: Science, Art and Sports.

Sirius provides a unique opportunity for schoolchildren to study with some of the country's top educators and experts, as well as to meet leaders from Russian companies, scientists, and cultural figures. This provides a platform for the development of young talents and their future success.

During the operation of the center, more than 72,000 children have participated in its programmes. Many of those students have become winners of international and all-Russian Olympiads, contests, and competitions.
The Educational Center has several flagship projects and core programs:

The "Big Challenges" scientific and technological project, which involves participants collaborating with industrial partners and research institutions to tackle urgent issues for the country.

The All-Russian "Constellation" competition for young musicians, where participants showcase their talents on a large stage.

Project programs "Sirius.Summer" and "Lessons of the Present", where participants work on tasks from major Russian companies.
Since 2017, regional centers affiliated with the Sirius model have been opening across the country.

Currently, these centers operate in 84 regions of Russia, as well as in Baikonur city.

You can apply to participate in these programs here.
How the Sirius University of Science and Technology is evolving and why its programs are unique

The Sirius University of Science and Technology has implemented a new approach to education and research: students are engaged in advanced scientific research with university scientists from the very beginning of their studies.

All university programs have been developed in collaboration with partner companies and leading research centers, ensuring that the most relevant skills are developed. This allows for the training of specialists with highly relevant competencies.

Practical scientists from some of the best universities and academic centers in the country and around the world, as well as experts from leading hi-tech companies, regularly come to Sirius University to deliver lectures and conduct workshops.

Unlike traditional universities, Sirius University does not have traditional departments and faculties.

The University's Research centers conduct research in the most important areas for Russia: genomics, immunobiology and biomedicine, neurobiology, gene therapy, plant genome editing, biotechnology, AI, robotics, clinical psychology, ecology and climate change issues.

The laboratory complex of the Sirius University of Science and Technology is one of the largest in the country in the field of life sciences. It combines the best achievements of science, education and industry, conducts fundamental research and creates innovative products.

The entire infrastructure of the laboratory complex is incorporated into educational programs.

The university also hosts short training programs, scientific schools and conferences, including international ones.

The University opened by the decision of President Vladimir Putin on July 1, 2019.
What is a dream college like? We explain it using the example of the Sirius University College.

The college was founded within the Sirius University of Science and Technology in 2021. It trains students in programs developed and implemented in close collaboration with partner companies, many of which are leaders in the Russian and international markets.

From their first year, students do internships at large companies, and most of them successfully combine their professional and academic activities by the end of their studies.
Since the beginning, students have a clear understanding of what employers need, as 70% of their classes is dedicated to practical work and internships and only 30% is spent on theoretical courses and lectures.

Another benefit is that the college trains specialists in popular fields, such as information security, programming, web development, network administration, computer systems, and tourism and hospitality management.

All classes take place in modern classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and hardware.
