Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo in India Dr Elena Remizova and Russian Consul General in Mumbai Mr Ivan Fetisov took part in an international seminar on the strategic partnership between Russia and India, which was held at Rashtriya Raksha University. The Russian delegation also included representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Federal Customs Service and the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation to the Republic of India. In her speech, Dr Remizova noted the need to expand the teaching of the Russian language for university students, indicating that the Rossotrudnichestvo is ready to provide the necessary support in this area.
She congratulated the university students who successfully completed an internship at the Russian House this year and promised to expand the internship program for next year. Also, the presentation of free scholarship in Russia under the program of the Government of the Russian Federation was held for students.

The Russian House in New Delhi held a meeting of students studying Russian with the Ambassadors of the Russian language who arrived in India as part of the program of the same name, implemented by the A.S. Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Over the course of a month, Russian specialists conducted lessons and master classes at the universities of Bihar, Assam and Delhi. At the final event at the Russian House, the participants got acquainted with the traditions of Russian holidays, in particular, New Year, Maslenitsa, Easter and others, and also reviewed the alphabet, etiquette phrases, got acquainted with the cities of Russia, folk crafts and even played with spoons.
The participants of the event noted that they were very glad to have guests from Russia and learned a lot of new and informative things.

An event dedicated to the celebration of one of the most significant Indian festivals, Maha Kumbh, was held at the Russian House in New Delhi.
Representatives from various walks of life took part in the round table: politicians, sadhus, journalists, writers. The discussion was devoted to the importance of the festival in India, as well as its role in strengthening cultural ties between India and Russia. Modern aspects of the Maha Kumbh celebration and its significance for the younger generation were discussed.
The event contributed to strengthening intercultural dialogue and emphasized the importance of preserving traditional values ​​of society, culture and religion.

At Jawaharlal Nehru University, the international conference titled "Russian Language, Literature, Translation, and Culture in the XXI Century: Reassessment and Prospects" was inaugurated. They emphasized the importance of preserving the purity of the Russian language and promoting Russian literature in India.
Over the course of the two-day conference, participants will discuss pressing issues in translation and the analysis of contemporary Russian literature, explore the phenomenon of the new Russian "women’s prose" as a significant trend in 21st-century Russian literature, and deliberate on the future prospects of Russian studies.
The conference is organized with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo, the Indo-Russian Research Foundation, the Russkiy Mir Foundation, the Union of Russianist Translators of India, Sahitya Akademi, the Institute for Literary Translation, and the A.S. Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.

A gala evening was held at the Russian House in New Delhi to celebrate the 270th anniversary of Lomonosov Moscow State University and Russian Students' Day with the participation of Indian graduates of Moscow State University and other Russian universities, teachers and students specializing in Russian studies.
Mr Roman Babushkin, Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in India, and Dr Elena Remizova, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in India, delivered welcoming remarks.
Indian graduates of Moscow State University were presented with commemorative certificates signed by Viktor Antonovich Sadovnichy. The event featured a screening of the film "History of Moscow State University", created by Valdis Pelsh especially for the anniversary. In this festive atmosphere, the Youth Club of the Russian House was presented, and the first members were accepted into the club. Let us remind you that the first public meeting of the Youth Club will be held on January 31 at 3 p.m., everyone is invited!

More than 100 people took part in a special evening dedicated to the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist siege, which was held at the Russian House in New Delhi. Surrounded by the installation "Blockade Bread," the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in India, Dr Elena Remizova, reminded the guests of the importance of preserving the memory of 872 days full of unparalleled tragedy and courage. Dr Evgenia Vanina, a well-known Indologist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, a leading researcher at the Center for Indian Studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told the Indian participants of the event about life in the besieged city, and also read the translation of an excerpt from poet Olga Berggolts's “Leningrad poem” into Hindi. In turn, students of Russian language courses at the Russian House read several works by Olga Berggolts in the original language.
During the event, the opening of the exhibition "Siege of Leningrad in photographs of B. Kudoyarov," provided to the Russian House by the State Museum of History of St. Petersburg, took place. The photographs reflect the daily life of the city and its inhabitants: volunteers leaving for the front, women working at military factories, squares in the historical center, turned into vegetable gardens, hospitals, burned suburban palaces, defensive structures.
A harmonious continuation of the exhibition was the exhibit of works by the young Indian graphic artist Nishant Kumar Meena, dedicated to life in the besieged city.
In the second part of the evening, guests from the destroyed Leningrad moved to today's St. Petersburg: director, secretary of the Union of Journalists of Russia Ashot Jazoyan presented to the audience his documentary "Petersburg! Life in the city.... " In short stories, several dozen Petersburgers of different generations, nationalities, professions and hobbies admit their love for the city that survived the Siege, recovered and blossomed again.
The event was attended by cultural and public figures, diplomats, journalists, Indian students and compatriots.

On January 28, the Secretary of the Union of Journalists of Russia, co-chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Media Forum "Dialogue of Cultures" Mr Ashot Jazoyan met Indian journalists at the Russian House in New Delhi.
