On May 9, a ceremonial rally dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory was held at the Russian Embassy in India. This significant event brought together representatives of the diplomatic community, employees of Russian organizations abroad and all those who cherish the memory of the feat of the victorious people.

The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to India Mr. Denis Alipov, as well as representatives of the diplomatic missions of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. As a sign of deep respect for the fallen soldiers, the participants of the event, including the employees of the Russian House, laid flowers at the memorial stele on the embassy grounds.

A special moment was the laying of a capsule with a particle of the Eternal Flame, brought from Russia, by the activist of the "People's Front", the famous boxer Mr. Dmitry Kudryashov. Representatives of the Russian House in New Delhi also honored the memory of the heroes by laying flowers at the memorial.

After the ceremony, a particle of the Eternal Flame was solemnly transferred to one of the main symbols of India — the India Gate, where a memorial is located in honor of the Indian soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom of the Motherland, as well as to the Presidential Palace in New Delhi. This gesture became a symbol of the unity of memory and gratitude of the peoples for peace and freedom won at the cost of millions of lives.

The solemn event became a living reminder of the importance of historical memory, which unites peoples, preserves the truth and inspires a peaceful future.

The grand opening of the art exhibition of the outstanding Indian artist Abhay Kumar entitled “Shunyata” / “Emptiness” took place at the Russian House in New Delhi.
The guests were greeted by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to India Mr. Denis Alipov, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in India Dr. Elena Remizova, and the author of the works himself, Mr. Abhay Kumar, who shared the inspiration and meaning embedded in each work.
The exhibition that appeared before the audience is a visual reflection on emptiness as a source of form and internal movement. The artist subtly conveyed his idea through multi-layered canvases made using watercolors and oil. His works require a thoughtful look: only in silence and concentration do the outlines born from nothingness reveal themselves to the observer.
The exhibition was visited by Indian cultural figures and representatives of the public, diplomats, journalists, Indian students and compatriots living in India.

The Day of Slavic Writing and Culture was celebrated at the Russian House in New Delhi.

The program began with an inspiring master class on Slavic calligraphy led by Russian artist Olga Levchenko. Participants touched the art of ancient writing, learned to draw Cyrillic letters with grace and precision, conveying the spirit of the times.

As part of the cultural program, Indian students of Russian language courses recited poems of great classics of Russian literature with inspiration and performed soulful Russian folk songs, filling the space with sincere feelings and warmth.

A special event was the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the famous journey of the Russian merchant Afanasy Nikitin - "Journey Beyond Three Seas", one of the first Europeans to visit India. This unique monument of Russian literature of the 15th century, included in the chronicle of 1489, became a symbol of the first historical ties between Russia and India.

A pleasant continuation of the program was the screening of the feature film "Pardesi" - the first ever joint Soviet-Indian film project, released in 1957. The film is based on the travel notes of traveler Afanasy Nikitin. The film aroused keen interest among viewers and became a reason for reflection on deep historical ties.

Another exhibition dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius, the creators of the Slavic alphabet, attracted special attention. The exposition told about their contribution to the development of culture and education, and also emphasized the value of the Slavic alphabet as a spiritual and historical foundation.
