๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บโ›ฒ๏ธ #OTD On 20 August 1721, the first launch of the famous fountains and cascades, which are a monument of world hydraulic art of the 18th-19th centuries, took place in Peterhof.

๐ŸŸฃThe works on the creation of the ensemble continued for two centuries. They involved outstanding architects Leblon, Miketti, Zemtsov, Rastrelli, Felten, Shtakenshneider. Thanks to their labours, the estate with small palaces turned into the โ€œcapital of fountainsโ€ - a pearl of world architecture.

๐Ÿฐ Today Petrodvorets is a world-famous open-air museum city. There are 10 museums and three parks open for viewing. There are three cascades and 173 fountains in the Upper Garden and the Lower Park.

๐ŸฐKolomenskoye was first mentioned in the mid-14th century, and was the favorite residence of many Russian rulers.

๐Ÿ‘‘The dawn of the estate is linked with the reign of Alexei Romanov who built a beautiful palace here.

๐ŸŒณThereโ€™s a legend that Peter the Great was born here. His place of birth is unknown but the local oak trees are named after him: Petrovskiye. Oaks that remember Peter the Great are still there and you can take a rest in their shade.
