❓: Dear Ambassador, how could you comment on the accusations of the US administration representatives against #Russia about its alleged violation of #CWC and #BTWC?
💬 Anatoly #Antonov: Such nervous statements by the US authorities indicate the serious concern of the The White House about the revelation of the truth about the ongoing work on the military biological program near the borders of the Russian Federation funded by the #USA.
🔹 The US administration justifies illegal and dangerous activities with standard tactics by accusing Russia of all sins. It uses groundless and tired old arguments. As we say in Russia: "a guilty conscience needs no accuser".
🔹 We call on the United States to immediately wrap up illegal work in the field of military biology, including on the territory of the post-Soviet space. As well as to stop blocking the efforts of the international community to strengthen the BTWC regime and not to prevent the resumption of work on a legally binding Protocol to the Convention with an effective verification mechanism.
🔹 Moreover, it is time for #Washington to accelerate the destruction of national chemical weapons stockpiles. I would like to remind that the United States is still the only state party to CWC, which has not yet fulfilled its international obligations.

🇷🇺🇧🇷🇮🇳🇨🇳🇿🇦 On March 22, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with the Moscow-accredited ambassadors from the BRICS countries at a working breakfast.
🤝 The participants enthusiastically exchanged views on developing and strengthening their strategic partnership in the association. They reaffirmed their invariable interest in promoting the five-way dialogue at key international venues and other associations.
The participants reviewed current international issues with an emphasis on the situation in #Ukraine and around it. Sergey Lavrov presented a thorough analysis of the reasons for the Ukraine conflict and gave detailed explanations on the issues linked with ensuring security of civilians, including foreigners, organising humanitarian corridors and granting aid to refugees and other people who need it.
☝️ He stressed that the unprecedented economic war unleashed against #Russia through sanctions is a crude violation of key international legal standards.

❗️During the special operation in Ukraine, it was established that US scientists from a laboratory in Merefa (Kharkov Region) were testing potentially dangerous biological drugs on patients of the regional clinical psychiatric hospital No 3 in Kharkov between 2019 and 2021.

▫️Persons with mental disorders were selected for the experiments on the basis of their age, nationality and immune status. Special forms were used to record the results of 24-hour patient monitoring. The information was not entered into the hospital database and the staff of the medical institution signed a non-disclosure agreement.

▫️In January 2022, the laboratory in Merefa was shut down and all equipment and medication were moved to western Ukraine.

▫️There are a number of witnesses to these inhuman experiments, whose names we cannot disclose for the sake of their safety.
