The President signed an Executive Order on endorsing the Concept for the Russian Federation's Humanitarian Policy Abroad

The Concept comprises six sections that support Russia’s national interests in the humanitarian area abroad. Among the key targets of the humanitarian policy are the creation and enhancement of the objective perception of Russia in the world, promoting an understanding of its historical path, role and place in world history and culture, and expanding people-to-people contact.

One of the priority tasks is the expansion of bilateral cooperation in culture, science, education, youth policy, sport and tourism with the Commonwealth of Independent States countries, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, the DPR and the LPR.

The President was accompanied by Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff - First Deputy Defence Minister Valery Gerasimov.

Overall, more than 50,000 military personnel and over 5,000 weapon systems and military equipment, including 140 aircraft and 60 warships, boats and auxiliary vessels, are taking part in the drills.

Expanded format State Council Presidium meeting on tourism - the President’s key statements:

🔹 We need to do everything we can for people with different incomes to have access to the broadest travel opportunities.

🔹 The key goals include creating high quality, up-to-date and affordable tourism products and services; increasing demand for them; lifting administrative barriers to the industry’s performance while developing infrastructure and logistics; and creating conditions for attracting investment.

🔹 Attention should be given not only to the well-known tourist centres but also to the constituent entities of the RF, which have just begun to explore the industry.

🔹 The potential of the Black, Caspian, Azov and Baltic seas, as well as Primorye in the Far East, must be used more completely as issues need to be worked out for establishing large national resorts there.

🔹Special focus should be given to restoring national, regional and local tourist facilities and trails.

As part of the event, enterprises - residents of the Priority Development Area were commissioned via videoconference: Komandor Fish Processing Plant and the Zabaikalsky Grain Terminal, and also a flag was hoisted aboard the Alexander Deyev cargo-passenger car-rail ferry.

Vladimir Putin took part in the Eastern Economic Forum’s plenary session. Here are the key messages:

🔹Manufacturing growth in Russia’s Far East exceeded the national average by expanding by a quarter over the past seven years.

🔹Delivering on major plans to develop transport infrastructure enabled businesses to quickly rearrange their logistics for working with countries ready and willing to trade with Russia.

🔹The system of international relations has changed – APR countries emerged as new centres of economic and technological growth, attracting human resources and capital.

“As per tradition, the programme of the Eastern Economic Forum includes discussions on the projects and initiatives that are extremely important for the development of the regions in Russia’s Far East and for strengthening Russia’s cooperation and production ties with Asia Pacific countries, both our old, traditional partners and countries that are only developing dialogue with Russia,” the President said.
