Meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council has opened in an expanded format
Vladimir Putin spoke at an expanded meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council. Highlights:

“We are open to working with the whole world. The SCO is a non-bloc association. We help to address the energy and food problems which are growing globally as a result of certain systemic errors in the world's leading economies in the field of finance and energy,” the President of Russia said.

🔹The SCO countries are building their cooperation on the basis of the supremacy of international law and the UN Charter, equal and indivisible security, and mutual respect for sovereignty, national values and interests.

🔹Priority areas of cooperation are the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking, organised crime and illegal armed groups, and political and diplomatic resolution of conflicts on the external borders of the SCO, including in Afghanistan.

🔹Russia is ready to donate the 300,000 tonnes of fertilisers accumulated in EU seaports due to sanctions to developing countries.

Vladimir Putin answered media questions in Uzbekistan. The highlights:

🔸Cooperation with the SCO countries creates conditions for developing the Russian economy, and the social sphere and improving the living standards of citizens.

🔸$200 billion in trade with China will be reached soon. This year it will be about $180-$190 billion.

🔸Plans for the special military operation in Ukraine are not subject to adjustment; they will continue despite the Ukrainian army's attempts at a counteroffensive.

🔸Removing the ban on purchasing Russian fertilisers only for EU countries is an ugly decision. Hopefully, the European Commission will have the common sense to correct their mistake and increase efforts to prevent hunger in the poorest countries.

🔸The EU's accusations against Russia in the energy crisis are an attempt at blame-shifting. Gazprom and Russia intend to, and will, fulfill their obligations under the agreements and contracts.
