Vladimir Putin met with young environmentalists
The President and participants in the Ecosystem: Protected Area National Environmental Youth Forum discussed environmental education in schools, construction of a new youth centre in Kamchatka and conservation of unique nature sites. They specifically focused on waste disposal.
"We know very well that the majority of waste, around 50%, consists of packaging. The island I have mentioned, in the Pacific Ocean, is built of plastic, mainly packaging and non-degradable waste. Naturally, the entire world has taken decisions concerning the accountability of packaging producers. The principle is simple: anything you produce you must be able to destroy or pay for its destruction. This is the principle in place in Russia. But it takes time for it to be widely implemented," the President stressed.

Expanded format State Council Presidium meeting on tourism - the President’s key statements:
🔹 We need to do everything we can for people with different incomes to have access to the broadest travel opportunities.
🔹 The key goals include creating high quality, up-to-date and affordable tourism products and services; increasing demand for them; lifting administrative barriers to the industry’s performance while developing infrastructure and logistics; and creating conditions for attracting investment.
🔹 Attention should be given not only to the well-known tourist centres but also to the constituent entities of the RF, which have just begun to explore the industry.
🔹 The potential of the Black, Caspian, Azov and Baltic seas, as well as Primorye in the Far East, must be used more completely as issues need to be worked out for establishing large national resorts there.
🔹Special focus should be given to restoring national, regional and local tourist facilities and trails.
